How many of you are planning to play FFXIV?

any word yet if they will let us pick our server this time around? :3
 
They better, cant see why not, they know a lot of people want to play with friends from FFXI. Would be stupid not to give that option. Unless they allow people who are say in quetz on FFXI to all move to same server, could prevent overpopulating on certain servers.

Hard to say. You'd think that they would allow server choice, but this is Square-Enix.

I don't trust them to see the obvious choice.
 
I hope we can be able to pick our server. I would really like to play with a lot of my FFXI and Aion buddies again :)
 
Question 2 asks if players will be able to select the same server at launch

* Tanaka says FFXIV allows you to choose your server at character selection. You can tell your friend to pick the same server. He notes it is always better to choose a server that is not crowded.

Taken from ffxivcore.com... so yes, I think, unless they really are bold and like to lie to their playerbase upfront, we'll be able to choose our servers. :)
 
Nice to see some ls names in the mix here! But yep, the rest of my pc parts come in monday so my pc will be ready for xiv!

In regards to the server and the future of QCDN, I've been thinking that if we cannot get a server with a "QC" name then I'm hoping we can get ourselves another server (ie www.kdn.com for Kefka Daily News) or something similar. I don't think a name change/facelift would be a bad thing at all for the XIV dedicated servers. Though I have a lot in mind for the future, I'm hoping it'll all work!
 
Hehehe I can imagine that Kefka will be a very popular server.

I am doing pretty well. All grown up from days of old... lol Been looking to get back into a little online gaming, and FFXIV might be just the game I am looking for, even though I have heard nothing about the game.

How have you been?
 
Oooo, we going to get all the people on the same server for launch? FFXIV has me coming back to the MMO scene surprisingly, so hopefully see you guys there.

I have been well :) Super busy with life in general.

Should we not have a poll of preferred FF villians?

We shall see lol. Hard to say what they'll ultimately do with server names.

You might be the one following me this time tho..BUT I will let you have full leadership and control over Ikari and Ajs. And Gladdy if that old fart isnt dead.

Doing pretty good actually. Making decent money, working on a family, and overall just enjoying life.
 
I'm gonna hold off on quitting FFXI until a little while after starting FFXIV in the event FFXIV turns out to be a horrible game and I don't have to fight 50,000 people in POL to reactivate my content ID. >.>
