Reading the following thread lead me think about a question Ive had since I started playing.

http://www.qcdn.org/showthread.php?t=23856

How long do you give a pt member who is afk before booting?

How long do you give a d/ced member before replacing?

1st question, depends if they said how long, what happens, and whether they said at all.
I'd give them 10mins over the time they said if I'm in a nice mood, and if they didn't say at all, about 2 mins maybe.

2nd question, 10 mins probably.

Depends on the reason, the frequency, the attitudes of the members of the group, and the personality of the player. Some groups just seem to have that "se la vie" vibe going and some groups have that every second we aren't killing something is a moment lost vibe.

Disconnect I give them ~15 minutes.

AFK is mainly based on the player, anything under 5-10 minutes i'm fine with usually, but if its someone realy crapy i draw the line at 10, especially if there annoying

DC i wait 5minutes, then see if theres a replacement, ask them if they'd be willing to replace if someone doesnt come back in the next 5minutes. then after another 5 minutes, i ask the party what we should do, then if they wanna get a replacement i have the person i already have arranged come out

I used to go with a 10 mins or two strike system with unannounced AFKs. As far as announced ones i'd weigh the proposed time of AFK against what we could otherwise be doing and decide wether or not to either split, look for replacement, or wait it out.

Dcs are trickier, 15mins is about my attention span on that but 9/10 you're still looking for a replacement for another 10-15mins past that. I usually got lucky enough to have the DCd member come back in that time.

- If the person is AFK 5 to 10 min longer than he/she orignally said, then I boot em.

- If its obvious that the person pulled the plug and forced a DC, then I look for a replacement immediatly. If I either cant tell, or know that it was a normal DC, i'll wait around 10 min.
