I had it happen leveling up woodworking, and now it's happened with alchemy.

I'm at 58.5 alchemy now, got all set up yesterday starting at 56 to synth a bunch of Hi Pots with a goal of reaching 60. The skillups absolutely SUCKED! I finally run out of Malboro vines, none on ah, cost per vine at guild merchant in Bastok about 1k. I want to get it done so I bite the bullet. I get maybe .3 skillups going through well over 20 synths. I go back for more vines. cost has skyrocketed to 5k/vine. Fuck that!

I went to whitegate to the guildhall, vines still at 1k, buy as many as I can hold, work synths there. By the time I get too tired, I've gotten maybe an additional .3 skillups. I had about 28 vines left.

This morning, I get up, restock on all but vines, go to guild hall in Bastok, get in the right position, get the guild image support at all times, and go to town. In 15 synths I got a FUCKING GRAND TOTAL of .1 skillups. Vines at guild hall still at 5k a pop.

NO FUCKING WONDER THERE ARE STILL GILSELLERS, if SE makes it so absolutely frustratingly fucking difficult to get a simple fucking skillup to 60!!! This kind of absolute bullshit makes it so fucking tempting. Assholes!

FUCK YOU, SQUARE ENIX! YOU ARE DRIVING PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE FUCKING GAME!

<And if anyone wants to know how I REALLY feel, just ask me. I'll be happy to let you know...>

Don't get support when skilling up is all I have to say.

Be patient. Slowly buy single cermet chunks off of the Auction House, and simply use fire crystals to synth them into porcelain pots. Resell at a small profit.

Your problem is you're trying to blast your way to 60 with rapid, stackable recipes. Yes ... for a gilbuyer, this would be easy, and negligible. For most of us, however, it's a painful route.

One cermet chunk, one fire crystal = porcelain flower pot ... caps at 61. Make seven at a time, wait a day or two to sell them off, and repeat. You'll easily be 60 by this time next week. I know that the impatient side of you might find this unacceptably slow, but if you're a longterm crafter, an average of even a single skillup a day after 60 isn't bad at all. Heck, in your late nineties, you'd be viewing such a speed as veritable crafting pornography. :P

Take it easy, mang. Gradual, relaxed, stress-free pace > z0mg fasterz!!!11 pace.

It's also much easier on your inventory.

If you need vines, hop to Ordelle's Caves with all the other ingredients. Each Malboro drops 1-2 vines at a high rate with THF sub. Next to no competition too, and there's about 5 spawns down there I believe.

Makes no difference except break rate.

And don't get so bent out of shape, man. Crafting is totally unreasonable, people should realize this by now. From 0-50 on my craft mule, it took about 17 synths per level, on average. 50-60? About 40 synths on average, with 52-54 taking 50-60 synths each.

I know how you feel, though. I want to toss my computer out the window when shit like that happens. But not worth the above post. -.- Anyways, at least it's something crazy cheap like Alchemy, and not Goldsmithing or something.

I suggest you stop crafting altogether if this is your attitude about it at only level 60.

Lol, and what, you want crafting to be easy? Why do you think one of the reasons crafting as a whole has become shit profit for anyone under 90+? Because it's TOO easy to skill up now (maybe not all crafts, but alot of them).

So, because you didn't skillup alchemy on every single synth, SE is now supporting gil sellers. That's horribly retarded logic, you're just impatient and apparently not willing to actually work to get something. If you want crafting skillups handed to you on a silver platter, go play WoW; we actually earn our shit here.

On top of that, they can also be stolen. Rolanberry is also prime. It couldn't be easier to get vines without spending money.
This flame is ridiculous.

Lawl. I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck at in the 50s because of shitty Hi pot luck.

WAAAAAH CRAFTING IS HARD
SE is clearly supporting RMT by making something require time, effort, and dedication! High level crafting should be simple and easy, and you should already be to 100 in five crafts, with Aegis and Excalibur! WAAAAH!

Forgot my password.

Fuckin' RMT.

People should skillup on every synth. That would totally be great for the game and not fuck up the economy at all.

so when the hell are you gonna start working for SE to make the necessary changes we need?

Well basically Bajaratt is right.

Your just bitching because you didn't get any skill ups. Like everyone else has said, quit your bitching, stfu and go play WoW if you want shit to be easy.

not going to touch this...

to OP: Didn't you get the memo that tradeskills are useless now? Now for your redicuous argument about how SE supports RMT by making SHIT HARD, it just makes no sense. If they wanted to support RMT they would make it easy like the rest of the game.

lol, just read all the comments to the OP for the first time. Lotsa good stuff, and some good observations. Yah, I was feeling pretty frustrated at the time I wrote it, now am calmed down and actually look back on the OP with a sort of a wry smile. I'm a bit chagrined that I posted it, although I can see the humor of the situation now. The frustration's over, I've moved on, and I can appreciate why skillups will become progressively more difficult.

So thanks for all your comments, hopefully I'll learn from them ... except those of Garvin. For some reason, he just plain really doesn't like me, but that's ok because he is, after all, merely a dick (an a little one at that) and would be beneath notice, except his attempts to put people down are so pathetic that they wind up being a source of amusement. :D

All the best,
Fire

first time i've seen a flame OP admit he may have been wrong and accept peoples comments. wow.
