Most of my linkshell already knows, but for the very few of you outside of my LS that would actually care, come the end of the month, I am done. I have had a GREAT 3 year run in this game, but I really lost the taste for it around the holidays, and have only been on a handful of times since. I completed every storyline I could get my hands on, maxed a craft (I know, not much of an accomplishment anymore, but when I did it, it still meant something), and met a lot of great people, especially in my 3 LSs: PhoenixPimps, FlyingFish (Myihta, Damita, and Stouter-ita) and PA(Dynamus). BUT....

How should I go out? Should I just delete? I must confess, that I have only had one GM call made on me, and I never got to see Mordian Gaul. I do not want to necessarily do anything mean. Would just running around the city screeming 'I use windower, to hell with your facist, nazi, MS wannabe GMs and their overdue, DRM-like windower knockoff' be enough?
 
You got more cojones than that. Go MPK people so they hate you forever!
 
Give all your eq away and simply log. That's what I'm doing anyways.
 
Can't say I didn't see this coming, but best of luck w/e you decide to do Al. As far as how to go out... Give away your gear, give it friends, delvl your BST back to 4, whatever gives you a chuckle.

With all the nerfing all the funs ways to go out are gone :sigh:
 
Give stuff away and delete if your intent is never to come back.
Leave a reason to come back, and it's likely you will be back.
 
Throw away all your r/e stuff. Not only does it make a nice photo op, but it will help dissuade you from coming back.
 
Don't give shit away, or throw shit away... Just leave everything the way it is. 2-3 months down the line, if you still have no urge to play, sell all your shit, then sell that gil. That's my advice.

Do what I did, go to Uleguerand Range Ski Resort and throw yourself off the mountain. When you hit the bottom you and your stuff will be gone. No coming back from that.

Man, I *tried* to get ban't from FFXI last time I quit. It doesn't work.

If anything, give away a few of your precious high-priced items to friends you know will keep them & not sell them. Let them know you may come back, because even if you don't think you will, you might. And then just cancel. Going out with a wimper is better than a bang.
 
I'm putting on a level 1 character and taking some sneak oil, and then going down to say hi to Vrtra in King Ranperre's Tomb. Of all the stupid deaths I suffered in this game, I was the last death to be a good one.

Sure, running around and spamming shouts in Jeuno or the like will grant you a trip to the slammer. However, you'll be very let down once you get there...It's nothing special. I'd save yourself the hassle...

Or you could start shouting profanities whilst drinking a nice cup of poison.

Since you can't use items inside Mordion, use a poison pot or whichever poison deals a tremendous amount of damage. Drink it before you get sent to jail, that's the tricky part.

Basically, if you time it correctly...You'll die inside of Mordion. When a GM comes, tell him: "Peace sukka" and return to your home point. :D
