Okay so i got my wisdom teeth removed last night and i'm druged up as fuck. Now normally when i get home my dog is hyper and goes insane, starts running around everywhere and so on(Or in the case of DD coming over he hides cause DD might eat him). But last night when i got home he was clam. he didn't go insane and he lied by my chest when i was sleeping..(normally he lies at my feet)

I wake up this morning and so does he. The first thing he does is look at me like hes trying to smile and then lies back down at my chest.

So does anyone else think that dogs can feel their owners pain or was i just so druged up i dreamed it all Lol?

Dogs can tell how you're feeling, and not just how sick you are but they can tell your mood. They are amazing friends. Some smarter dogs have IQs as high as lower end mentally retarded humans.

When I had dogs when I was younger, they'd always be particularly calm around me when I was sick and lay against me to keep me warm and watch over me. So yeah, I think certain kinds of pets - dogs and cats especially - feel some degree of empathy for their owners, though dogs are often more obvious about it. There's a reason they're used as comfort animals for children undergoing intense medical treatments and people living in nursing homes.

Cats are the same way, when you're sad they will try to cheer you up etc. Horses to some extent are too. If you ever go out to ride a horse, and feel insecure with yourself, the horse will sense it and try to fuck you up.

That's why I get upset when people, especially scientists, talk about how stupid animals are ~.~

Considering the use of "he", I highly doubt the male dog is pregnant

They may be smart, but they certainly aren't good drivers...

Woman crashes when teaching dog to drive
Mon Aug 28, 8:19 PM ET
Taken from CNN.COM

A woman in Hohhot, the capital of north China's Inner Mongolia region, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson, the official Xinhua News Agency said Monday.

No injuries were reported although both vehicles were slightly damaged, it said.

The woman, identified only be her surname, Li, said her dog "was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive," according to Xinhua.

"She thought she would let the dog 'have a try' while she operated the accelerator and brake," the report said. "They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car."

Xinhua did not say what kind of dog or vehicles were involved but Li paid for repairs.

Yeah, some animals really do make better friends than humans at times (such as parents who want you to cook dinner a day after you got your teeth pulled...)

Don't think they have some special emotional link, though. =P think it's mainly due to them simply being far more alert to behavioral patterns of people than most humans tend to be. That and, well, most animals have a much stronger sense of smell, so I'm sure dogs can tell if you're wounded more than easily.

Dogs have an amazing sense of smell. Think of it as us smelling in black and white and dogs smell in color. I believe your dog could smell that there was something wrong with you and was acting on that rather than "sensing" how you felt.

It's proven they can smell cancer.
