Ever since this dagger was introduced I have been begging everyone I know to help camp it. In all this time only 3 people helped me once. We missed it due to CC. And only one of them came back at the respawn time.... and the damn thing didn't even spawn! There wasn't even any wind weather in the whole window. Some people say they'd help if I got the ToD (I doubt I can count on them if the time came though), but its a 9-12 hour respawn surrounded by Toughs. This doesn't exactly make for a good time alone.... And in all likelyhood the respawn will probably something impossible like 5 or 6 a.m.

Yet... I see all these other THFs with this knife, and I wonder 'how? how did they get help to do this?'

How DO I do this?? I'm sick of begging for help everyday.
 
get help, i tanked it for acute. get someone to suicide pull. pull the NM and the rest of mobs will disapear when that puller zones, guess it's not really suicide but you get me. he's not that tough when u get him, we did it with no blms. i was nin, we had a whm,rdm,mnkx2,pld and thf. he's hard during the end when he spams AoE that takes shadows. but the mnks just 100fist. kkthnxbai

I've had the same problem. :/ Even if you get ToD it's hard to get people to even come because it's such a wacky NM in a shithole of a place. >.>
 
so why not get try and schedule it?
 
I'd help although id like a chance to lot on it. Greater birds in my experience are 10X easier to damage for thf so even though im 57 (might be 68 later) a sata can still do nice damage to it.
This is from the fact that as a thf fighting simurgh back when i was 57 and lower ect a single satavb could plant 800+ damge worth of hate onto someone and the lv 75 pld would be no longer tanking at least for a short while. The bonus on greater birds for thf is insane.

Can't you set up a skill up pty or something that can last from around the starting of the Window of the ToD to the end? That way those who are helping know they are getting some things in return. Gather two ptys and alliance them so you can take down the tough mobs easier.

Have someone with widescan in your pty to scan the area once it's double wind, then that can be when you suicide pull or whatever you have to do to get the NM.
 
It can be taken down by one party of 75's. We just need ToD then we can gather the people. I know I can get one, if not two ninja tanks. And most likely some other people willing to help.

The biggest problem I find is getting ToD. Because camping this bastard is a pain in the ass. You can pick a date. I don't care when. I just fucking want it. >: (
 
Thief + mage can easily duo this or Ninja + mage, just find yourself a mage friend and bring him/her with you to teriggan ^^. And Yes this dagger is an incredibly pain in the ass to get. I think my social linkshell camped it for.... 5 of our members, spent at least 3+ hours on each. The worst part of this guy is that it's window HAS NO END. once we were there for 9 hours....

Best advice I can do for you solo is to bring all your evasion gear, to teriggan and once he spawns, claim, do not engage and then stall him until back up arrives. I don't know if that works anymore withthe new claim system but it has worked before with my friends. Good Luck!

Yes I was lucky when the LS was skilling up there during the window, and all those nice people helped me to fight the NM and I finally got my dagger. I feel very bad to ask friends to help camp through the window of hell with no end.

My best advice is... go get the TOD yourself, come back in 9 hours and let your friends know you are camping for it and be prepared to head out to help you. You will need a mage friend to help stall the NM when reinforcement are on their way. I had decent evasion gear and merits as a 75thf/nin but it still eat through my shadows and I only last for at most 5 min solo.

I have Duo-ed it with a whm friend and it was pretty tight but we had a great time duoing it. Too bad it didn't drop for me that time. 1 thf/nin + whm + rdm is more than enough. Just remember it does stormwind 3 times in a roll so don't recast utsusemi untill all 3 stormwinds are used.

The pull itself and camp is totally safe.
I dont see any reason to whine about that.

As for getting help, well, if your 'friends' dont help you, maybe you should consider getting some friends.



When I was getting my Joyuese, without having ToD, a friend of mine spent about 9-10 hours down in that hole with me. TY Rs :)
And then the rest joined in as they got on/done with what they was doing.
Most of them was there 4 hours+. And that's just the actual day I got it...

My point is, there's a differance in friends and friends.
Now is a good time for you to find out who's a good one ^^

When I wanted the dagger I first talked to the weather-npc in Rabao to
see if there was any windy weather comming up.
I had alot of my friends from the ls to keep me company. (Luv ya all.)
In the end I tanked it as 75thf with not much eva gear at all, hell I did'nt
even have evasion capped...
Setup: Thf, blm, blm, whm iirc.


So get the weather reports, head up to the spot and sit in the tunnel and
simply wait. Took us more or less 6ish effective hours at that spot.
