how to find lost friends?

Im racking my brains here, for over a year and a half i have talked about how much id like to get in contact with an old friend of mine again and catch up on our lives. but the thing is, i havent talked to them in so many years i dont know where to begin.
Ive searched the web for her but it seems she never got near a pc much, most i found was that she did a 40k run in 2002 and gave blood this year by seeing a quote she gave on the blood drives paper and possibly in nursing school and the military.
ive tried searching her school at classmates.com, lookin her family up in the phonebook,searching her family online and i turn up nothing.
It sucks because she was a major part of my life. and id really like to see how shes doing, wheres shes been and vise versa over some coffee or something, maybe even become friends again.
But besides hookin up with maury povitch and montel williams, does anyone else have any ideas?
Earlier tonight i ran acrossed some web pages i created long long long ago, i dont even remember creating too well...but they had stuff about us on there, and its just another tug at me heart in the hopeless search.

I dont know what else to do, if theres anything you guys know of or can think of that i could do to aid my search, im willing to listen.

There are some types of information that is better left harder to find, especially in this day and age. Why make it easier for all the "Myspace stalkers" or "Online predators"?

Even if your request may be an innocent one, your not the only one reading this.
 
The only thing I can think of is most of the stuff you listed, perhaps there's a friend you could contact that knew her in high school through classmate or myspace online, or just any of your fellow classmates, you never know.

Good luck in your search, and hopefully things turn out well. There's been someone I've always considered trying to get back into contact with, just to make amends and apologize for some past actions, but it's been a long time and it felt like it would just open old wounds, hopefully its not the same for you. If you 2 left on a good note and just had to split for whatever reason, then I could understand, but it was a break-up/fight, then maybe it would be best to avoid the drama and stress, you know? Anyway, GL, don't do anything too crazy!
 
yeh i get the whole stalker thing. guess your right.
yeah i tried myspace, ive asked several people who knew her whom also lost contact and dont know anymore.
guess ill keep lookin.

ive looked through phone books and everything.
I used to wear a watch back then that held phone numbers...if i can find that it might have her parents old number...ive been lookin for it today lol
 
When I started working at my new job, one of my old friends that I haven't seen for 12 years worked there aswell. Imagine my surprise <.<

Either way, I think finding and old friends with the limited ammount of clues that you seem to have seem rather hard without a lot of luck >.< Like looking for a needle in a haystack =/

Good luck though, and I do reccomend trying to dig up old letters and w/e you may have from her and go by that... if you have her old address you could go there/call them and see if the people living there know where she went... I dunno

I do believe its rather hard to find people nowadays considering the privacy level all companies keep, since they're not allowed to give out personal information about their customers.
