how were you introduced to the game?

Towards the end of March 2004. I had purchased the PS2 HDD (With FFXI included) in high hopes that there would be new Socom 2 maps to download. I read the manual that came with the game. Then I decided to give the "Free Trial" a whirl (those bastards at Squenix new I'd become an addict!). I hadn't really been into RPG's just a few that I played to end-game. At first I wasn't highly motivated by the game. It was fun, but not my cup of tea. A few days later I found out a couple of Socom buddies were on Quetzal. so they got me a world pass. NOW, I was hooked!


I wound up buying the PC verson because my wife was complaining about me hogging up the TV in the livingroom. So, I mainly play on my PC and occasionally I go on with the PS2 (usually just to get the updates).
 
My friend drug me into this game and I feel like kicking everyday for it.
 
i saw a friend playing it during last year's halloween event and i went out and bought it. ah...memories...
 
Watched the guy nerzul was talking about play the beta. I said something like "hmm, intriguing."
 
I had it reserved for the PC before it came out(in NA), picked up up on the first day it hit stores last October. I had heard of it, and read about it in various gaming magazines beforehand to try and get an idea what they were going to make it look like. And i've been fairly happy and hooked every since. ^^
 
Hmm i was always FF maniac fan. My first FF ever was FFIII on gameboy, boy did i beat that game fast, even got all my characers maxed lv.99 (i think). Then i found out there is FFVII for PC, oh boy, i just couldn't resist not getting it and got hooked immediately. Btw killed final boss like 10times, and yes i played FFVII 10 times :D .Then came FFVIII which also came out on PC so i got it, was nice to have a change from kiddy character to grown up teenagers but the avatars suck, took too long to cast and SE made the animation a bit tad long lmao. Then i played FFIX on Psx which was very good. I loved the story line and gameplay was solid. And yes i cried on every FF i play. There is always some part which is emotional in every FF. I skipped on FFX and FFX-2 cause i didn't have psx2 :cry: and i moved on to FFXI when i heard there is a PC version. Pre-ordered it from e-bay USA and got it on Jan5 2004. Been playing till now :D
