This just happend! I am standing in Altep LFP, when all of a sudden I get an invite from Goodman. They are in an alliance with another party fighting Desert Dhalmels. None of them speak any English, I helped out in 3 fights, then just dropped. Anyone have a Glue why they are doing this? After I dropped and put my flag back up, they sent me several more invites and finally got a clue and stopped.

Glue = Clue.

Well they cost me 400 EXP! They all the whole group of them, just logged off at the same time. Really wired.

This happened again in the Dunes. What is up with this? I don't know for sure if the people where Gil Farmers or not, but an alliance fighting VT and IT monsters will gain less EXP than a normally party, so why would people be doing this? It is not like they are taking on a whole bunch of monsters at once, but instead all 12 people are fighting one monster and only bring in 20 EXP on an IT.

An exp alliance can either really really suck or really really kick ass. If it's done right, you can get up to around chain 6 or 7 with little downtime between chains. These kinda people though (these guys were either gilfarmers or idiots) ruin the whole concept of exp alliances. It sucks that you had to experience retardation (sp?) like that, pascal.

omg i partied with these guys in the dunes the other day, every item that a monster dropped they lotted for it, i asked them many times to stop lotting and to let it spread out evenly..... no reply, then all of the sudden a few more guys rock up they make a party alliance and i was gaining 11 exp per fight, i left put my flag up, and the same person sends me the same message asking me to join the party, (good man was a part of this party)

Last time i checked you can't exp chain 7...

I've never gone above 6, but I have heard people at Allk claim to do chain 8, but you have to consider the source.

I wonder how many people they actually get to stick a party out with them.

Why is it more even to let the game decides than lot for items? :shock:
I love JP parties for that : at least it gives a little something to do between fights and it's always nice to put out a 989 lot on a coffer key ^_^

Because lotting :
- take time
- spam your chat window
- can make you lose concentration on more important things like doing your job.

As a tank I haven't the time to lot during a fight and, in a good pty, the downtime between fights should be minimal. It's even worse for the puller. Provided that not every classes have equal chances for lotting in time, it's better, in my opinion, to let the game do the work.
The situation is different for important items or when the pty is disbanding.

There are numerous Vids/Screen Shots on AllaK of people hitting Chains 8-10.
