This guy Hundredfist is goddam ridiculous, 2 parties within 3 days with him as leader, both times half an hour-1 hour of awesome xp, then BAM hes AFK without telling anyone, never coming back. I've heard other people saying the same thing. Is this his stupid little tactic for getting free XP? I think so.....
Anyway, what a retard. All I can say to you Hundredfist, is FUCK YOU for ruining a good party.....TWICE! LOL what a fuckin retard........

Word. I offered to help him financially a while back if he helped me in return. So we went to uleguerand range to do the fight and he gets aggro and dies. He then proceeds to call me a dumbass and that I have screwed up "big time".

BTW he was a 75 Galkan monk and he could have handled any of the mbos that aggroed him but he decided to flail around and get 9 tigers aggro on him.

9 is an exageration btw I think it was more like 2-3 tigers and one bomb.

Reko, Rori, and I had the same problem with him going through the mid 50's-60 range. In fact last week he asked me to lvl with him cause he wanted exp bad, and it was mid day on a week day, so I decided sure, lets see if he's stopped doing it. The party only had 2 people that spoke english, the other 4 were jp's. About a hour in, he HAS to afk for 5-10 minutes to get something to eat. Long story short, about 40 minutes later he comes back after the jp and I kicked him and re-formed without him to prevent the obvious exp leeching. When he gets back, he says through /say FUCK ALL OF YOU!! (and we wonder why the jp don't like to exp with us) After his lil bitch session, i simply sent him a tell "That was rude". His only response, FUCK YOU. What he likes to do, is form as party as leader thinking he can pull this stunt and not get kicked cause he's got leader. He relies on being a bard to get invites because we just can't handle lvling without refresh. This was the third time he's pulled this, it's also the last time it will happen. If you want to party with 5/6 members, without refresh cause he'll be afk, be my guest. He's a idiot, and a exp leech.

Really? I partied with Hundredfist twice with his BRD in the two jungles. He was damn amazing. He actually did more than just sit back and Ballad, like the Bard I was beginning to stereotype. He gave us good spells, gave the Mages Ballad, debuffed the mob, and did everything right.

Of course, I might have just gotten lucky with those couple of times, but he was good when I met him atleast.

I partied with his BRD too, he had a habit of leaving and/or accepting invites then ditching for other parties within a few fights. Player skill was okay, but his manners needed some work.

I partied with him recently in Bibiki Bay, he wasn't a bad BRD, when he was there...he did have the nasty habit of AFKing...coming back for a fight and then disappearing again. Other than that annoying fact, he was alright...a little bitchy, but whatever...he calmed down after a few minutes.

Great bard? were you getting chain 5s and 6 with no downtime? only great bard i ever partied with was prade rest i just forget about em the rest, next day.A bard can do alot... they should have mobs ready to exp on.I actually used to consider hundredfist a friend and tried to help him with the damn tungi axe... but when i did COP with him omfg.That guy is not even a galka he acts like a damn dimb ass monkey.He has major anger issues... keeps thinking the world is out there to get him.ANd he does not care who ever u are which hurts the most he just wants to LEVEL LEVEL LEVeL And every other second he was like "I should be lvling" and ended up wasting my time and pissing off 2 more party members.All the time i was putting up with his cusses n disrespects to party members since hes that big huge baby but in the end I cussed the hell out of him n probably the first person on blist for 2 days.

lol. Bards are not the determining factor of whether you can get chain 5. You don't even need a bard to get chain 5. It's a combination of the damage given, damage taken, MP used, and MP gained back.

Yes, a BRD can make each of those better, but they can't make crappy players into good players. You still need competent players behind *most* of the other 5 jobs, and some of those jobs require moderatley good gear.

Ballad and Etude won't make a galka BLM with no +mp and no +int a good DD. Madrigal will not make a DRK with no +acc gear or food hit anything on good xp mobs. No combination of madrigal, minuet, march, or mambo will help a NIN tank if he has no +evasion and doesn't know how to take off Utsu:Ni to stick Utsu:Ichi. No amount of ballads will make a WHM stay at full MP long enough for chain 5 if the WHM spams cure 4 everywhere. All the MP and songs in the world will not help a DD who doesn't know how to NOT pull hate.

You have far too much faith in the average player.

You see my signature? That used to be "Bard Hater", not "Disliker of Morons". Really, I got sick of how people freaking worshipped Bards because they give you 1mp/tick. I'd rather have a RDM, giving me 3 mp/tick, helping with Cure (way more effectively), helping with damage, and helping with everything. Sure, a BRD gives you like +20 damage to every single swing you make, but wouldn't you rather have another character dealing an extra 200 damage than having 3 characters dealing 20 MORE damage?
But I'm over that now. I convinced my entire LS once that Bards sucked. I like BRD now.
The thing is, I stereotype Bards for sitting at the back of the party, giving the Mages Ballad, and doing absolutely NOTHING else. 9/10 Bards I partied with (when I hated them), they did just that. Nothing except Ballad.

Going AFK as a Bard is unacceptable. Even during bio breaks you have things that you should to be doing, let alone during a battle. Luckly demand will outweigh what asshats are doing out there. I could only wish the same for BSTs..

Going AFK unannounced as any job is unacceptable. If you're WAR, as the partner for a SATA, the puller's gonna get killed. If you're the tank, your party's gonna get killed. If you're the healer, your tank (at minimum) is going to get killed. If you're the nuker, the fight's gonna take forever. If you're part of a skillchain, you won't be able to pull it off.

I guess this is coming from you, so I shouldn't be too shocked about all the misinformation in your post.

Bards have TWO ballad songs... we give 3 mp / tick after level 54.

Bards have carnage elegy... 50% slow... That's 25% less damage taken and a NIN tanks dream come true.

Bards have Minuet AND Madrigal (accuracy and damage). We will account for more damage than one melee unless everyone is severly pimped out. Even then, we'll allow that severely pimped out party to fight 200+ xp mobs and easily get chain 5.

We have threnody, which lowers the mobs resistance to an element, which casues the mages to do more damage and get resisted less.

We can toss out ES + Curaga 2 and NOT pull hate. Fighting mobs that have big AE's that never get resisted much? Hope you have a bard.

We can actually pull in specialized parties to get chain 6+.

Are we better than RDM? That's debatable, but we're definitely not worse.

Any job can pull if they really want to. Bards can just do it a little better than say a BLM or a WHM.
