Who is going to get bite in the ass by this bitch?

I live in Dallas, which is pretty far north Texas for those that don't know. We are anticipating a lot of ran over the weekand, and have been warned that our power may go out of several days. I plan on getting some extra water, and canned food just in case. We already have a drawer full of candles.

My Aunt lives in Houston, and is waiting till tomorrow to leave despite my mom begging her to leave today. They say the gas stations are already running out of gas, and that the highways are moving at 15mph.

I sure hope my aunt, and everyone else makes it out ok, and those that can't make it out survive the storm.

God speed people.

I'm in Dallas too, but I've got friends and family down in Houston and in the surrounding area. They're all leaving today at least, but I'll still feel better when they're here in Dallas.

Took my friends 15 hours to get here (Dallas) from Houston....ouch.

i left galveston area yesterday around 11am. 7 hours later, i got a total of 92 miles down the road. no joke. made it to hotel finally. hopefully far enough away, now just hope my house still whole when i go back :\

I know there is at least going to be one account of "Falling Down" happen here haha...as in the Michael Douglas movie if you didn't catch that...

We are not the same. I'm an American; you're a sick asshole.

Mmy uncle is in Texas and he isn't able to leave. He's stuck. But he's in an apartmant building. So I just want you guys to keep him in your prayers..

Good luck to everyone out there, I know it's really hectic.

Seasons not over yet...not even close...I have a friend going back to Miami this weekend to have Hurricane parties and I think those things are omens >.>

Well, Rita moved East, so we aren't anticipating get more than some showers. I know they are unpredictable, but I'm sure we'll be just fine.

I hope everyone else will be able to say the same.

I got a couple family members stuck on the coast near Houstan the rest made it to Austin yesterday. :(

this damn storm is already re-flooding my city. katrina was bad enough. give NOLA a break.

We boarded up my house and my area barely got hit. There's debris all over the place, and a few downed trees, but we got very lucky. My grandparents live in Orange, TX, which is like 20 miles from the border of Louisiana and is pretty close to Beaumont, TX which the media keeps talking about. I saw some pictures from their area and it got messed up pretty bad. I don't know if my grandparents' house took any damage or what. They've lived there for over 40 years, so I don't know how well their house could deal with a storm like that. They aren't letting people back into the area until about Wednesday, so we won't know what the outcome was until then.

Luckily, you still have power apparently. Some relatives from the Houston area just called and they seem to be doing okay.

Hopefully, everyone's relatives are doing okay and have taken the necessary precautions.

This area got the leftover clouds and rainstorms that dispersed from the hurricane. There was more wind than normal but actually refreshing with the humid weather.

Give the gulf coast a break. -_-;;

Ack!

Just got back this morning. My mother and I spent the weekend at a friend's house in Austin, TX, and we couldn't have left at a worse time. We spent 22 and a half hours driving non-stop. We spent the first few hours frying on HW 290, and when we realized that it was almost a parking lot, we took some "back roads".

It was an agonizing experience which was in vain (since Houston didn't get hit that hard at all), but it is better to be safe than sorry. Even though I suffered, it is nothing compared to what the people of SE Texas and LA are experiencing right now.....

Best wishes.
