I just had this thought but if Lets just throw this out there.

Lets say i wanted to join a HNM shell. do you think claiming a HNM like Faffy of Behemoth would impress a LS enought to mabye warrent entry into the shell?

I know that would be hard to do im just talking hypotheticaly here

Like lets say I camped Faffy by myself.... and got claim.. then proceeded to get wasted.. think that would impress anyone?

Only reason im asking is cause i was looking a a thread on this board and i just am super intrested iun join a HNM shell that does the tough Kings and stuff. And im wondering how i would go about getting noticed enough were a shell would want me to join.

really i guess that is my main question.. What do i have to do to get noticed and recognized?

While you can brag that you beat the dozens of voke-spammers, I don't think that'd be enough to warrant you to get into any HNM LS. Usually shells go by how useful you'd be to them (wether they need a tank, or a DD, or a healer, etc...) and how truthworthy you're known to be. But then, some LSes out there might have some low standards...

if it's a night when nidhogg has a good chance of popping, claiming the mob is a great deal of luck. when i was there one night, faf didn't even pop on my screen until he was claimed and already being fought ; ;.

It's not always about the claim-- any botter can claim. Take another approach. Look for the shell(s) that YOU want to be apart of. The kill is fun the grief that comes with the kill is not always as such. Get to know the people you'd potentially be running with and let them get to know you. Sure you'll make some heads turn by getting a good claim-- skill holds a lot of weight but you'll have better results by "not trying" so to speak. You'll have more fun if you enjoy the company in which you are spending these 3hr+ sit sessions with and not turn out to be another name on a roster.

Having a really fast PC, and extremely fast internet connection has a lot more to do with getting claim then any kind of "skill." So.. with that said I doubt anyone is going to recruit you because of that.

Also, some might think you've got yourself a nifty claiming bot, and want nothing to do with you. You have to realize the thought might crosse their minds since thats the aspect of your character that you're boasting about.

Why not ask your friends ingame if they belong to any HNM shells, and if they are, ask them if you can join in too. Get a name of the ldr of that LS, and let them know your friends with this person and would be interested and dedicated to the LS.

At least if you have friends in the LS, it makes HNM hunting more enjoyable.

Meh, claiming Fafnir is all luck. Its a random time between when he pops and when you can claim...so bots really dont work very well. Just show this LS what you can bring to the table in terms of skill, that will mean more than voking fafhogg will. (Although if you do grab a Nidhogg...lol they might love you for it)

My brother DID get invited to JdA because he possesed a claiming challange when they more or less had a monopoly on claiming. At the time he was the only NA in the shell. He also proceded to be kicked out a month for being a complete fucking retard.

HNM shells are [obviously] dedicated to taking down HNM. The problem is the pop timers. Even if a shell had every ToD for every HNM it is meaningless unless they can get people there to claim and take the mob down. And when you compound it with the fact that people work, have school and other sundry's; the real challenge is to be online, available, and able to drop everything to be where you're needed at the right time--and the times changes to all hours 24/7 as each mob is killed. IF you are able to deal with sort of thing and are willing to do what is neccessry, I would expect that is enough to get you noticed. For me, I found it drained all the fun I get out of the game; and I have work and used to have school, so it was rare to ever make any camp.
