I just picked up a 20.1inch LCD monitor, and hooked up my other LCD for some sweet hyrda-vision.

I have it working decently but I don't really know wtf I'm doing and the only instructions are in Korean.

I can't find a way to get a task bar onto both screens unless I have it in clone mode which defeats the purpose amiright? So I'm wondering if anyone knows how to do this..

You cant, unless you get a 3rd party program called ultramon (i think), but it fails miserably.

One taskbar to rule them all.

haha I tried this ultramon, and I'll concur on the failing horribly. Thanks anyway :).

Another Question:

I found that if I run for instance WCIII in full window, my other monitor changes resolution and I can't drag the mouse across. Of course this makes sense cause if you want to move your camera in WCIII you have to put your mouse to the side.. Is there a way to have a hotkey to enable the mouse dragging across, and not have the other monitor change when having a fullscreen program running?

I have my old dell 17inch monitior new 19inch one

I have Geforce7800 with driver 8X.XX something i think

it allow to clone, dual view, horz view, or vertical view

so far i can't get a game running 2 screen, i don't know how...

and full screen game can only run on the main monitor screen,

if a game is windowable, you can place the game on second monitor and have another game running on main

and ya, taskbar is only showned on main screen, nothing you can do ^^

Not to bash it or anyone using the functionality but after running dual monitors for a couple months it's a novelty you'll get tired of troubleshooting every few days just for the ability to have a web page and game up. I decided to live back in the stone age and just learn to love alt + tab.

You need to window your game to allow movement to the other screen. As for resolution changing, set the in game resolution to that of your moniters current resolution.

Most games have scripts online that window it, just like Archbell. Check the setting in the game too to see if theres a selectable box for it too.

I gotta agree.

I had two monitors set up for a while. I had one for gaming, and the other was there for AIM, Firefox, and my play list, so I could switch songs at ease.

When my harddrive crashed and I switched to Vista, I couldn't get the other monitor to work (really lousy video card, not compatible) and honestly I don't miss it.

Eventually I'll set it up again, but I'll wait until I get a new main Video card and then use my current one for it.

I love dual screens. I don't think I could go back. Sure it's useless in most games, but for example Supreme Commander uses both monitors - watch two parts of the battlefield at once. This will become more popular among game devs in coming releases.

I haven't had any outstanding issues with it either, I'm not sure why you had to troubleshoot every few days RoM. Once I get everything arranged initially, it's rock solid until the next time I reformat.

I'm enjoying it quite abit, I need to find a way to have a fullscreen program, but have a hotkey to allow my mouse to go back and forth between screens.. Is that possible Cmdr?

Pretty much how my setup is. I have 2 moniters side-by-side, and one is dedicated FFXI screen and the other is for Opera, AIM, WMP and uTorrent. After I install the latest drivers because of my reformat its run smoothly with no problems whatsoever. Hell Im even thinking of running 2 graphics cards (not in SLI) to add 2 more moniters immeditatly above the first 2.

You could have 2 separate porno's going, FFXI, and Misc.... You would be god incarnate.

I think exodus's post earlier explains the best way to do this. I've never tried what you're asking, in fact I prefer the opposite - there's a program called MouseJail that will force your cursor to stay within the dimensions of your primary monitor.

This has been a saviour to me, there are times playing SC or C&C where you want to pan your view by pushing your cursor to the edge of the screen. Without MouseJail, cursor goes into the second monitor and as soon as you click, it minimizes the game and puts focus on the desktop.

Anyways, back to the point. As exodus said, you want to force your game into windowed mode. That should allow you to shift focus to other apps on the second monitor without minimizing your game.

Ill talk to some guys at my work and see if they can develope a c++ script to window a game, since my work is 90% programmers i shouldnt have a problem getting one made. Ill keep you guys posted.

Well with like WCIII, you can just take the target from properties which is"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" and add - window at the end..

Is this mouse jail program hotkey-able?

It is, but it has to be run before the game. Well it actually runs the game for you, the shortcut to launch your game would be:

Mousejail.exe "e:\games\pronbot2007\pronbot.exe"

Mousejail.exe is stuffed in the %systemroot%\system32 folder so it is included in Windows' pathing.

I downloaded this mousejail, i put the correct path infront of the one, but it doesnt keep it on the monitor. And the install.txt it comes with has files that i didn't download

Which game? What OS? I haven't tried it with Vista yet, it did work for most games in XP but I seem to recall it didn't work for the odd title.

Pay no attention to that install.txt, it belongs to another app and was mistakenly put in this zip. 5 years ago. He doesn't update much.
