What's everyone's problem with the rating system? All I ever hear are lunatics bitching that the rating system is nothing more than an e-peen contest. So fucking what? It is what it is. No, it's not going to make you any money. It's not going to do anything. It's going to give you an extra green dot after enough people have liked what you had to say or after you've whored yourself out enough.

And goddamn, the only people who ever bitch about the rating system are people who barely even belong in the gene pool to begin with.
While yes, I don't think the rating system really matters.
You don't rate people because you think what they wrote was retarded or smart most of the time. People like Shyrra etc. (no effense) have many dots because their friends keep rating them up. Not because everything he says is very smart.
People with negative points, get rated down because people just don't simply like them. Its not because every post they make is retarded. If they suddenly came and made a very good, smart, intelligent post, the majority of the people rating them down wouldn't rate them up.
The ammount of dots you have, and the color of them, don't show how much you contribute to the forums or how many smart intelligent posts you make. It just shows how many people like or dislike you. So yes, it is a very worthless e-peen contest.
To be completely honest, I laugh every time I see people rant that someone rated them down. "omg, someone rated me down! Die bitch!". Seriously, we have plenty of those stupid topics here. Can't we just sticky a "Post your rate down rants here" thread?
