I finally get myself a scroll of Utsusemi: Ni from a BCNM. So, feeling a bit luckier than normal, I head down to Castle Ozzy for some turkey carving, hoping to get some of the more expensive Elemental Ni spells. Before leaving Jeuno I snag the three cheap ones though: Katon, Hyoton(Huton?) and Raiton. Since all these scrolls are Rare I expected better chances of getting the ones I wanted.

So, competing with a bunch of other farmers and the occasional gilseller, I begin slashing away at the Yagudo Conquistadors. To my surprise, after about an hour, Huton(Hyoton?) dropped. Pretty happy now, I continue. About 30 minutes after that, Doton dropped. Really, really happy now, I keep going, eagarly awaiting the final scroll.

I kill Conquistadors for about two more hours with no Suiton drop. "Bleh, well I've come this far, maybe I'll just splurge and buy the last scroll." I'm thinking.

Then this happens.

I got a strange run of luck for once, ZOMG. D:

Well, now I can level NIN to 40, and therefore other jobs in the process. My NIN's been underleveled way too long.

SCORE ONE FOR THE MEDIOCRE FOLK.

Utsusemi: Ni is a pain, and expensive. The elemental Ni spells not so much so.

Well, you have to pay so much for the tools to be able to cast them in the first place. So if you ask me, 150k for one elemental ni scroll is a bit absurd.

Yeah, I'm just saying scrolls. How bout 100k for a stack of shihei toolbags? I mean, that's tools alone and good for what... 6 levels? Maybe 7? That's expensive as shit. But, by farming the scrolls necessary you're saving yourself money. It's like my whm and doing my own tele-quests by 42. It's just lazy to buy them, and more fun to do the quests or work to get them. Feels more rewarding.

Someone obviously doesn't solo inbetween parties to finetune their skills.

Heh, a 12-set toolbag as WAR/NIN only lasts me a couple levels. 6-7 levels as a NIN main is being pretty conservative lol

Fixed.

Lol.. You're forgetting they're talking about the lower levels. ;p I try to be pretty conservative with ninja, too. Good parties help, because the faster the mob dies the least you have to cast which saves the pockets. ;)

Though, Congrats on your spells. I farmed mine too, hehe. Have no clue how much they go for but I had fun getting them. ^^b Now to get my swift belt and start leveling again, hehe. Soooo much fun to play. GL :)

<--- someones Ninja is only 19 as a subjob for his thief, a job that's actually fun and less expensive. -.-;; All I know is I went from 13-19, almost 20, on three toolbags. Once you're requiring 6000XP (lvl 34) or more I'm sure it requires much more Shihei to level. However, for me, it wasn't bad. I'm still using shihei from leveling ninja on my thief and have 7 bags left of shihei alone.
