Should I get a hauby+1 or Hachiman Kote+1?(which one first)
I have everything I really need now its time to just pimp myself fully out.

Haub first, get dusk gloves (+1) and usukane sune-ate.

Yeah, Hachiman kote are only useful until you get 5/5 Store TP merits, and you only need the NQ to get a 6-hit build. The latent effect is only good when your TP is above 100%, so it's useless for weapon skills and there's a lot of other gear that has more STR on it for a lot less. Don't waste your money on a worthless HQ.

Haubergeon +1 would be my dessssssssssision.

Not one person asks me about a hach +1... but everyone asks for my Hauby +1....

Supply vs. Demand. Get the Hauby first just because it's what most are after. Then if you have enough work on the Hach which most people don't care about having.

You speeled decide wrong

Really, Bajaratt hit the nail on the head. Save your money spend it elsewhere on slots that will show a noticable improvement.

It has a use. Abet a small window of use vs. cost, but everything could be looked in that manner. In this case, unless I read it wrong, he was planning on getting both anyways??

It doesn't have a use, unless he's missing some fairly basic gear.

I agree. But even in this sentence you are admitting it has a use....

My whole point was he said he was getting both and wanted to know which one first. I by no means wanted to encourage or define what he thought his play style was. If he wants to waste his money, really who am I to say no? Especially after you spelled out why it was a waste.

I hope/assume u have sea and a rajas... if not worry about that first. then get a brutal... then get usu feet... if u dont have usu feet get the nq feet for tp and ws along with dusk hands and w/e u wanna ws in... but get the haub+1 no matter what.

Once u get usu feet forget the hachiman set all together.

Word. I used Hachiman Kote+1 for a while becase i got them for free but they measured up no where near Hauby+1 for having use. Especially if you have other jobs.

Well the whole reason he is posting is so we can help him NOT waste his money, thats kinda the idea here.

The point of these forums is to provide answers to questions from fellow players. He stated in his post he was going to buy both and only wanted an opinion on which to get first. If he had asked opinions on them and what he should buy, I'd actually spell out a few NQ pieces that I'd say he should have as basics before Hauby +1....

Baja's post provided all the extra information he should have ever needed for himself to decide if it was a waste or not. No need for me to post anything other than an agreeance to the Hauby>Hach line.

Thanks but I hauby+1 and dusks+1 :) hehe thanks allllllllllllllllllll :DDDDDDDDDDD

Here's something I don't get. If you have to use one Hachiman piece, why feet? The only exception I see is by having Dusk gloves +1, which is 99/100 times not the case. Otherwise, it boils down to this:

Dusk Hands (Att+5) & Hachiman Feet (STR+2)
Or...
Hachiman Hands (STR+4 Att+10) & Fuma sune-ate

STR+2 and Att+5 Vs. STR+4 Att+10.

The latter is exactly double the former in terms of STR and Attack... use Hachiman hands and Fuma sune-ate. (Until Usukane feet, obviously)

As for the Weapon Skills, no you don't need to WS in the extra STP+5 with this setup. You could use Rutter Sabatons (STR+3 Att+5) for WS instead of Hachiman sune-ate (STR+2 and the WS Acc which is next to useless). Assuming you have 5/5 STP merits and Hachiman hands or Usukane sune-ate in your TP set up (for at least 3 out of 5 of your hits to 100%), you can WS in whatever you want.

wait, the attack is with the latent over 100tp right? shouldn't it be:

STR+2 and Att+5
Vs. STR+4?

Edit: Well, wiki follows what you're saying. It's not the most reliable source though, so i'll check it later myself.

Having said that, as a 2-hander STR+2 Vs. Att+5 isn't going to be a noticeable difference at all anyway. In fact, if it's TP>100%, the Att+10 will probably be more useful if you swing a lot over 100% TP, which is commonplace in endgame if you're saving for skillchains, sekkanoki or both.

The other bonus of course is no walk-slow, which is a pain in merits -- let alone endgame (especially kited fights).

The latent for Hachiman Kote is active only when you have more than 100% TP, that's why they're useless once you get 5/5 store tp merits.

Since I'm bored, pictures to follow.

Spoiler:

under 100% TP with Hachiman hands on:

Over 100% TP with Hachiman hands on:

Hachiman's latents are useless unless you're saving TP.

Now, to go sell back these gloves.
