I can't figure this out...

I had a few minutes to kill and figured I'd finally wrap up those Lure of the Wildcat quests. Already done Jueno and Windust. Finished San d'Oria quickly. Then got to Bastok. I didn't look at my log, so I don't know if I had the quest really started or not. But the first NPC I clicked on the list gave me the /em flashes badge, blah, blah, blah... so I went on my way checking off the NPCs around Bastok. Each one letting me show them the badge.

When I go to the taru "quest starter" he gives me the blue badge and tells me to recruit people. ...what!? I thought I might have missed one, so I run down the list again. This time, they all say their default messages, I show none of them the badge. Return to the quest starter, same message "go recruit."

Have you got the Blue Invitation Card (key item) from him or just the Blue Sentinel Badge?

Also, if you have not completed Aht Urhgan Mission 2: Immortal Sentries to enlist as a Mercenary, you will not be able to teleport using this NPC according to ffxiclopedia.

The problem is with the key items. When I first arrived at Bastok, I figured I already had the blue badge since I already had the other colored badges for the other towns. (Yes, I should have checked.) So, I just started checking off the NPC's. Each one would give me the message that I flashed a badge. (Can you flash badges for other towns!?) When I finished Tour de Bastok, I went to the starter NPC and.... he just then gives me a blue badge. No invitation card. I've zoned to see if he'd say anything different. He doesn't. And I've talked to all of the "recruit" NPC's 3x's. They all say their default sayings now.

So, the recruits think I've done the quest and the starter NPC thinks I haven't talked to a single one. ...wtf!?

Did you do this quest just before an update perhaps? I once had completed a quest and next day after an update had to go back to him again cause for some reason it hadnt registered.

Did this last night. The other nations went off w/o a hitch. Bastok is the only one having hick-ups. ...fkn Bastok.

Hope I don't have to wait till maintenance to finish this. That'd suck.
