I swear to god if she gets into office im moving to canada

Remember all the jerk off celebrities who promised to leave the country if Bush was elected, then refused to leave when he won? I say we make a pact right now, you, me, and anyone else who wants to join in - We leave the country for real if Hillary is elected. Anyone else in?

That speech reinforced my belief that every politician should be required to have a science advisor on staff. "Energy independent and free of foreign oil"

What a dumb bitch.

I can't tell if she's actually that stupid or a bold faced liar. Either way if she gets elected we're all fucked.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just not in the mood for Hillary lunacy right now.

Its a good thing you're not a celebrity. No one will remember when you refuse to leave.

if she is elected i will move... at some point lol. im not about living on the streets

I've got friends in Canada so I'd be set. =)

I'd actually rather move to a place like Sweden or something. I don't know about Japan. I'd have to visit first.

Ok first of all you wouldn't want to move to Sweden they're socialist. This wont happen the US southern states would never allow a woman into office. Most of the south still believes women should be in the kitchen cooking. What you all fail to realize if we ween off of our foreign dependency the government and energy companies own all the oil wells that are under American control. So that would only mean higher gas prices even now with the US government setting it here in the United States.

ALSO the President of the United States doesn't automatically get law into the constitution. It has to be ratified through Congress with a 3/5s (I think 3/5s) consensus from both houses then signed by the President or let it sit on their desk for I believe 30 days then it gets placed into law or goes back up (this part I'm not 100% sure on I know laws have been passed that way here in IL by sitting on the Govenor's desk for a month). The President's power is essentially command the military, veto bills ratified by congress, and sometimes propose a bill to congress which may get shot down. Or their is the hidden trait of not doing anything to help improve anything.

While I am thinking of it as well the whole ethonal gas thing wont work out. Yes it is true that there are less emissions with ethanol gas, but the emissions that are left by the fuel kind of branch from the worse of the emissions from normal fuel. So I wont agree with Bush on trying to focus on E85 ethanol.

Another hot issue that will be brought up is outsourcing industrial jobs over seas for cheaper wages from workers making the rich become richer. I know it is unconstitutional to put a ban on outsourcing or giving jobs to illegal immigrants so you can not by any means do that. What can be done is propose a bill, most likely to be turned down, of taxing the crap out of U.S. businesses like Ford, Chevy, and others from the United States so that American workers are even cheaper than outsourcing and illegal immigrants.

The final burning issue on my brain is how privatizing Social Security wont be a good thing. For those of you who don't know, privatized Social Security (I'll call it S.S. now) is if you put money in S.S. when you get to the age or retire you get that money back and can invest it. Good idea right? There is a problem with this idea though. This problem lies in the fact that people already on S.S., about to go on it within in a year, just retired but aren't 65, or about to retire can NOT put into this type of S.S. because they're out of work. This idea could work for people 45 and under but it would never work for those that can not work because of their age to receive that funding. What needs to happen is stritcer regulations on S.S. so money can not be so easily pulled out by politicians so the well wont dry up. Tax money and portions of paychecks go into S.S so the well can't dry up unless the pooling just gets horrendious because of corrupt politicians that are elected. Remember the people that are elected by the minority of the majority and minority elect these people. America might have the lowest turn out ratio of registered voters of 35-40% per general election.

That statistic has to change, but why complain if you don't participate in government? You didn't vote you didn't elect your representitives because you didn't want to or couldnt because of stipulations. Online voting should we have it in America?

The real crappy part is I would rather see Obama in office over Clinton, and not just because I am from Illinois. I think Obama represents the lower classes well. Where as the rest, Republican and Democrat alike, were raised in the upper class and had all their privliages because of that wealth they had.

As for the Canada thing all I have to say is you're the butt of every American joke. Isn't that right eh?

So for the long winded post.

That's called a pocket veto. The president doesn't want to put his stamp of approval on a law, but doesn't want to send it back for an override vote either, so he lets his veto time expire.

Thanks that was the only one I could not remember was 100% true. I am in government now and it has been quite a few years since I was given basic knowledge to expand off of for politics.

That wasn't meant to offend either. Go into the deep south and damn tootin there will be women cooking and men making all the decisions. Sorry it's true no matter how you deny it. The majority of the miniority of the majority/minority that votes is deep south hicks that said Bush should stay in office to finish the job in Iraq. Morale of the story don't vote based on finishing a job.

I like Obama a little from what I know about him but Ron Paul is the ultimate badass that would get this country started on the right track by turning it back into everything our founding fathers intended.

I'll vote for the best between the 2 candidates.

If McCain runs there is a slim chance that I may vote republican, but not if it comes down to Clinton or McCain. I would probably vote for Obama over McCain too.

I'm not really worried. She wont win just off of most men having the thought "A lady doesn't belong in office". The majority of the people voting for her will be those people who like to *try* and make a statement. The minority like her proposals and are, well, idiots. Neither of those make up the majority of American voters, I'd think and hope. I'll never say a woman doesn't belong in office but I will say this woman doesn't. She needs to keep blaming video games and music for violence instead of bad parenting and let someone else handle our country ordeals.

This will probably be the first time I've ever not voted Republican :/ Voting for Obama just seems to be more heart setting at the moment than voting McCain.

I'm pretty sure about 85% of our population knows the name of our prime minister, especially since political news is one of the more extensively covered subjects in our daily news on both television and on radio. I would say it's 85% of Americans who don't know the name of the Canadian Prime Minister.
By the way, just for fun. Canadian Prime Ministers in the last 20 years:
Brian Mulroney
Kim Campbell
Jean Chretien
Paul Martin
Stephen Harper

LMAO, this is exactly what I said in my post. I said 85% of americans wouldn't know who your Prime Minister is. Reread my post please. Were as 95% of Canadians would be able to name our president. I'm saying Canada cares way more about our politics then Americans do about yours.

Here is what I posted...

Edit: btw Why do Canadians care about who we vote in as President. I post on a few other boards and the Canadians there, always have a opinion about our political system. Its quite funny, because here, I bet 85% wouldn't be able to name your Prime Minister.

fyi romper its a 3/4s vote to amend never 3/5 and 2/3rds to pass an act of congress

Obama I'm kinda worried about I'd like to see a black man stick it to Congress and the nation but maybe he isnt ready. You know slavery is over but civil rights was very recent I'm worried about his safety and I think he needs a bit more experience. I've only read two articles he first said that he only think about running.

I think he just let it go through his head a bit. It sounds weird to some but we still have to be careful. However there is a decent shot of him getting it if he gets it then wewt!

either way a revolution will happen(hopefully)

Sorry, you didn't specify what "here" was. Here could have meant the Canadians on this board, which is what I believed you to be saying. Especially since, your sentence before that statement was speaking about Canadians on other boards.

/shrug

I see the confusion. When I said "here", I meant the USA.

IMHO, having Hillary Clinton for a president will make us look like a weak country. Especially to the radical Muslim extremists (sp?).

If she's elected I am moving to Japan
