and I've been close to sh*t my pants several times during the first few lvls of this game.

I thought Doom 3 had scary moments in it, but this game really takes it all.

I could always hear this lil girls voice around me while I was walking around corners and such... Weird things would appear all the time and it would always happen when I least expected it.

Its not like in doom, where you walk into a room, then you just know something is going to happen here..... But in F.E.A.R. that wont happen.. It will surprise you at another time, when you really think your safe from scary stuff...

I dont think I'm gonna play this game at 3 am with a headset on anymore... :shok:

Headphones really enhance the atmosphere. The dark got to me in doom3, but you just knew something was always coming at you. FEAR does it a little differently and isn't as predictable as Doom3 early on.
 
If you've got a high end system this game is so...beautiful? The killing and maiming is splended, its scary, the baddys (not many types) are very accurate (keeps you on your toes, fingertips?), and the sounds are supperb.

Nitram gives it :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: outta five.
 
DUUUUUUDE you think the game is scary now, I got it for X-mas aswell, im on Ch4... and some crazy @$$ shit is beginning.. what your experiencing now.. is nothing like what ive seen.... good luck XD.

I have to get this game... But I'll be beating it in 4 days like usual. I murder FPS games. And if you want I'll even start playing it in Hard.

I cant tell whats it about. It just includes you, this weird lil girl that totally haunts you non-stop, but not in a "You will die 7 days after playing this game" style.
And a bad dude, that eat people and somehow seem to tell you something about yourself.

Try the demo before buying it. Its worth it.
 
Heh I've already done a F.E.A.R. post but hey, its an awesome game, it deserves to be mentioned twice. (do some digging and you'll find mine)

I wont be ruining it for anyone either. The only downside to this FPS is that it's rather short. I wish the experience were longer. But that is the only downside really. The story is unique to say the least, and no the ending is not "shite". The ending works perfectly with the game's story and leaves you expecting a sequel, also do wait till the end of all the credits for a little extra finish.

Basically you are the newest recruit in F.E.A.R., and elite government funded group that specializes in paranormal activities. And boy, did you choose a really great time to sign up. Apparently a powerful psychic has gone haywire and assumed control of thousands of clone soldiers that do his every bidding. Even more disgustingly, is that he eats people...

I loved the game. I've beaten it twice now, once on normal and once on hard. The fire fights are some of the best in FPS history, probably running really close with Half-Life 2. As you fire, chunks of wood/wall/and anything in between shoot off. You actually feel like you've accomplished something after you've laid waste to an enemy squad. Which, by the way, have the most advanced AI I've seen to date. These guys will jump behind corners, run away, flank you, and even use the Kill.Switch method of just shooting blindly around corners in a cheap attempt to kill you. It's wonderful to have to outsmart these guys. I really feel like a killing machine. And the gore? Oh, the gore.

I, for one, loved the ending. The last few minutes of the game are super-fantastic, and there's a small twist at the end. I won't ruin it, but watch through the credits. ^^
 
Wow, this sounds like a good one, perhaps I'll have to try and get it somewhere.Doom 3 has me jumpy here and there, but this sounds like a blast ^^.I've been in need of a challenge other than paying off Tom Nook and hunting Mephisto non-stop for some good trade items XD

my comp runs on a ATI Raddeon 9600XT
512 Mbs
I tried the demo of it and it worked fine with some slow downs though.
Would the final game run ok with that? Im not going to upgrade my comp so was just wondering if its worth the effort.
 
Yeah, it will run just fine. I have the same video card.

It wont run looking the absolutely most gorgeous it can, but it will still look damn good and play fine. You'll just have to go in and fiddle with the options when you get the game, or (which is quite a nifty feature) click on the option to let the game configure itself to your computers capabilities, this generates a custom setting effect that will make sure it runs well on your pc. You can always change things and see how they effect gameplay.

I plan on getting it very soon. I really don't plan to play single player but what I do plan on is making maps for it and playing online with a few friends.
