so im starting ffxi again.. i got ps2, hdd, and everything i need...

i ordered a 4 pack with all expansions... it has the registration code for it.. but i remember u need a playonline ID to get on... and if i remember right, that came with the game in the manual along with the registration code... but mine just has a registration code..

do i get playonline id after i register with the code.. or where do i get playoline id? anyone know?

help mehhh... and do install disc after i put HDD in? or wut... sorry im noob

I believe you get that when you register (unless you are wanting to try to use your old one). After you install and load up POL for the first time, you'll get a dialog asking if you are a new user or have an existing account. I don't remember everything you have to do after mentioning it's going to be a new account, but it should hopefully be pretty striaghtforward after that.

Just read your post a little more clearly. Registration might be different on a PS2 compared to a computer, but if they didn't give you a pol ID already you will probably get one with registering. As far as installing on the PS2, not entirely sure here, but I would find it rather difficult to install something before putting a HDD in...

ok thanks :)

Yeah they don't give you an ID in the manual they give you one and tell you write it down in your manual after you make the Playonline account

ok new problem.....

so i got a HDD that was used from my buddy that played ffxi..

i got everything in the mail that i needed to play.. i tried to log on and it wouldnt let me.

apparently if u switch hard drives from one ps2 to another, u have to reformat the hard drive... and the way to do that is with the hdd utility disc... wish i woulda known this or i woulda gotten it too lol... bought one now and in the mail though...

so... does anyone know what i do when it gets here or is it self explanatory? ... put disc in and follow directions or is there something else i need to do that i dont know... lol this is frusturating... i just wanna play...

and oh yeah... i have the 4 pack for ps2... i guess i download the playonline version first... then is it just one big download after that for the 4 expansions?... i have just one disc and it scares me lol...

guess i shoulda figured all this out before i bought anything... been really busy though;/

somebody help meeeeeeeeeeee

This is what you will need to do. Once you get the HDD utility disk just pop it into the PS2 and look for the option that lets you format the Hard drive this should take about 10 minutes or more. Once you have done that you will first need to install POL you will not be able to install the game until POL is on the HDD. Once you have POL loaded up POL into the HDD access the program and let it get to the log on screen. Once you get to this screen (The screen that gives you the option for file check and what not) their should be an option to load up the game I can't tell you the actual name of it since I'm at work. When you find it just load up the game and install the expansions ( I install them in the order that they where released) FFXI with Rise of Zilart > CoP > ToAU > WoTG from there it should all be self explanatory.

I believe you have the Vanadiel collection '08 (You mentioned somewhere that you only had one disk with all 4 in it) You don't have to worry about installing the expansions in any order. The '08 disk has POL, original FFXI, and all expansions in that one disk. It automatically installs POL first, then shuts down. Then you run the disk again and it installs the full game with all expansions. Thats pretty much it. Make sure you reformat the drive like Mugenteg said though.

I missed the part where he said he had the vanadiel colection 08. Like Sketchzter said just pop in the disk and you are all set but only after your format the HDD.
