Since Goblin Coifs seem to be "all the rage" today, I decided for
a change of pace to get an Orc Helm.

Mabuss synthed it for me with a reasonable charge of 100k.

was curious... what's the total purpose for everyone getting these beastman hats anyhow??? for fun? general purpose??
 
For fun I'd say.

The final upgrade of the hats have the ability to call upon a Named NPC beastman to come to your aid once every 20 hours.

i'm not sure if it works like the NPC's in the NPC quest, but via rumors I hear that the beastman just shows up, does a WS, then disapears.
 
Well, Gee...

I don't know about "Crappiest". To me, Quadavs are the crappiest.

But Orcs, along with Goblins and Sahagins are the most GENERIC, spanning in stories
outside of Final Fantasy (Lord of the Rings... Dungeons & Dragons)...

But I like my hat. No need to knock me for it. LOL

Atleast I didn't choose what everyone else's choosing. The Gobbie hat.
 
Do you happen to get any hidden bonuses fighting orcs with it? Maybe a hidden +dmg or -enimity?
 
Not that I can tell.

Haven't fought Orcs with it yet.

But I'd think not. So far it's only function seems to be a POP Item for
the REAL Helmet. (The Rare/Ex one that calls NPC)

Perhaps the real helmet will have some kind of hidden effects.

The main story for this helmet is that a Yagudo (who you accept from)
is acting as sort of an "Ambassador" from Castle Oztroja to Davoi...

Orcs are of course the "Shoot first, ask questions later" type. So you need
a "disguise" to see the Warlord... Enter the "Orc Helm".
 
I like my gobbie hat. ; ; All the other ones didn't look good, in my humble opinion. Well, I'd like to get them all. XD

Mabuss also synthed mine for a reasonable 100k, even failed his first attempt & rebought all the things he lost, because he knew I wouldn't sell the hat first chance I got. ^^

That's all cool, can you do more than one of these at a time? I got the goblin one going currently, need to save up an extra 100k for a buffalo hide, and from the sounds of it this hat might actually stop agro from the race it is resembling. How did you start this quest Devi? I zoned in at the magicite area in Davoi and nothing...... Maybe I'm going about this wrong.

Zone into the Altar room in castle O (you know, where you get the magicite there) to start the quest for the yag hat. Then that gob will send you to the weavers guild, you'll talk to some taru that starts with a P and be told to get the stuff for the yagudo headdress cutting. Velvet Cloth, Rainbow Cloth and 20k. Then when she gives it to you she will tell you the materials. She leaves out 1 wool thread I think... maybe not. Anyway, I got Asshie to synth my yag hat, send him a tell if you get that done.

Are you serious? I think yags look horrible. Orcs all the way, c'mon!
 
Flik, to answer your question, you can only have One Beastman Hat
Quest flagged at a time.

Finish your Goblin one first, then you can do the other.
