So I was at work with nothing better to do but think about FFXI, and I came up with an idea that might be some fun. So I am posting this as a sort of gauge of interest.
My idea is a sort of trivia LS. With prizes in gil for the people who participate and win. My idea breaks down like this.
I would create a LS and hand out perals to anyone who wanted them. Questions would be asked every other day. There would be a 10,000 gil entry fee per question. Each question will have several parts to it, and each part will be worth differant point values. Each person who was eligiable (had paid the 10k) would PM me their full and complete answer on QCDN. And I would add up the point values from the parts of the question that they had answered correctly. And the person who earned the most points would win 85% of all the money collected from entry fees. 8% of the money collected would go into a treasury for the person who collected the most points throughout the entire month. and 2% would go into a seperate treasury for either a 6 month or year long collection of points. People who did not pay the 10k fee would still be eligable for points by PMing me on QCDN. But their points would only count as half the original total.

*Char1 pours powder onto Char2's hand*
Char1 >> It will hurt more than you've ever been burned, and you will have a scar.
Char2 >> What are you doing?!
Char2 voiceover >> guided meditation worked for cancer, it can work for this.
1. Name Char1 and Char2 (names in the movie)-5pts. each
2. Name Char1 and Char2 (real life names)-5pts. each
3. Name the Movie-10pts.
4. Name the action Character 1 performs (line 3)-10pts.
5. Tiebreaker: Later in this scene how does Char1 suggest Char2 neutralize the chemical burn. (first to post answer wins in case of multiple correct answers)
There would be a total of 40 points avaialable for this question. And the person who earned the most points would win the gil for the question. Or in the case of a tie the person who answers the tiebreaker question would win the money. If someone did not pay the 10,000 gil entry fee they would still be able to earn up to 20 points towards their month/year totals.
So does anybody think this would be something they would be interested in participating in? Or does anybody have suggestiong as to what would make them want to have something like this happen? Any input is appreciated, thanks.
