I love you Obama...

Need to get your puppy fixed >.>....

Eh this is more of my mom's thing than mine. We breed horses and she got it in her head she also wanted to breed dogs, because she used to when she was younger. After having countless talks with her that -

a) there are plenty of dogs out there that already need homes
b) breeding dogs is just a gamble because you'll never know if anyone even wants them unless you have people who speak for dogs before they're born like most breeders do
c) she isn't registered so she can't even be studded out to a purebred
d) we just don't have the time or space to raise puppies when we have 3-4 foals on the ground every spring and then we end up raising ponies until they're 2-3 before they're actually purchased since most people don't want to have foals - they want ponies that are trained or ready to be trained

- I think that she may finally see the light and get her fixed. Or my step dad is just going to go ahead and do it.

My sister has an Italian greyhound. Fucking dog has too much energy lol.

I am fond of Siberian Huskies.

The bonus third point comes from this photo taken as part of a campaign against puppy mills. The then-Senator Barack Obama, stood next to the Lincoln Memorial with “Baby”, a Miniature Poodle and puppy mill survivor. Baby lost one of her legs in her ordeal. The photo appears in the book “A Rare Breed Of Love.”

That's not a poodle. That's a Bichon breed; looks like my Havanese, but could be frise. Best lap-dogs ever, but definitely not a poodle.

Still, awesome of him to do something like that. Anyone who saves dogs is ok in my book.

Yeah, my parents have 2 Havanese, the face is exactly the same.

Greyhound > Whippet > Italian Greyhound

Greyhounds are one of the laziest dogs you'll ever meet >.>

lol small dogs are full of piss and vinegar. They also have "small man's syndrome" and wont stfu most of the time, which is probably why I prefer big dogs.

I've never had that problem, my parent's dogs are very quiet most of the time.

Most of the Pugs that my family had were easily excitable but calmed down after a while. Although it was fun to get the dog excited. lol Usually they were really good lapdogs. When new people came into the house they did freak out and have to love on them. Overall they weren't too needy and were fine to just sit by you. I'm not too fond of Poodles and a lot of the yappy dogs though. My mom's Siberian Husky is really pretty too and always so sweet. I hate that she has to deal with the weather getting hot down here though. It rarely even snows down here. I knew someone that made an air conditioned dog house for their Husky. Everyone has their own personal favorites when it comes to pets. Tristam prefers having only cats. XD

My sister has a purebread Pug (was supposed to be a show dog but she was small so the owner put her up for sale) who’s name was… “Moonstruck Pocket Fandango” when Rachel bought her. Thankfully Rachel thought “Zoe” was a better name (this dog looks hilarious mainly because both her eyes point in different directions). She also has a purebread French Bulldog named Torque (her husband is into and sells cars) who, when he isn’t snorting like a truffle hog, lets lose with the most pungent aromas. Both are so freaking noisy and hyper all the time (Zoe also “snots” because her nose is so pushed into her face that she sprays out her nose). Neither of them know the command “sit” or “come”.

My dog Kodi (who lives with my ex-bf because he has a house with a yard /sadface) is a Doberman/Rottweiler and you have to actually try to get him to bark. I can snap my fingers and have Kodi sit down or heel. I say “bed time” and Kodi runs to his bed and lays down. I even taught him “hug” and he sits on his haunches with his front two legs straight up in the air.

I paid $75.00 for Kodi. Rachel paid over $5,000.00 combined for those freaks (+$4,000.oo to get Torque's eyes fixed when his tear ducts popped out and to get his nose fixed because he wasn't breathing properly).

M mom's Pug would sit, come, kennel up, and go to bed on command. She was a purebred too but my mom only paid around $400 for her. Granted she would get hyper but she could and would be calm most of the time. Pugs are prone to health problems due to their facial structure. We never had any major health issues with any of our Pugs although they would snort sometimes. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with your sister's dog but Pugs can be trained too.

Her pug doesn't have health problems, her bulldog does. And they spend 3-4 days a week in "Doggy Daycare / Obedience School". You tell either of them to do anything and they stare at you with a retarded look on their face.

I have a great love of dogs. In fact, when the last girl I was seeing expressed to me she preferred cats, it was pretty much all downhill from there(skipping the track when Hotel California was playing really sealed the deal). I'm going to say that dog Obama was pictured with is a Bichon Frise, a dog I remember well because when I was researching their statistics they had really top marks.

I'm also going to throw out a guess that in the first picture, that blacked out dog is either a Golden Retriever or a Black Lab, female. We recently lost our 13 year old Golden Retriever in late August, and it's been depressing to think about. Obviously she won't be replaced for a while out of respect, but there's also the issue of my sister's fiance's obscene allergies, so right now we're looking at certain breeds that might not be a problem.

I remember my sister complaining some years back when she was getting her undergrad about people who during the school year on her campus acquired pets and then simply abandoned them when they left for the summer. It's hard to imagine people being so awful, but when human beings will abandon their own children it's just not that surprising.

At any rate, though I didn't vote for Obama due to policy disagreements, I certainly think he's a nice guy who if I met in person I'd get along with. Of course, I'd say the same thing about McCain, Bush, the Clintons... Kerry I dunno, Gore probably... Pelosi doubtful. Certainly a shame when people villify personally people just cause they disagree with their politics. This crazy bitch at work, just before the election, was going off about how Obama is a terrorist.

I would love Obama if he'd adopt a pit bull and kept it in the white house :) Talk about a statement he'd be making!

But oh noes, you'd get those ignorant people that say all Pitbulls are aggressive and will kill children if given a chance!

which is why it'd be such a great statement for him to make, to prove the nation right! But then again, I don't know what the dog laws are in DC or even if pit bulls are allowed in the capital
