My, typically verbose, take on this (bearing in mind that I know none of the individuals involved and speak generally on overall leadership principles and human interaction) is that, as the case is currently presented:

- Kirameki *did*, however humanly, do/say something that offended a LS member (leader or not *should* be irrelevant /stare). This should have had *some* sort of consequence, and the most civilized consequence on all sides would be an adult discussion between Kirameki and Zerayla, where they come to an understanding of each other's perspectives and come to some sort of compromise between free speech and not being offensive. Which would probably involve a bit of restraint on Kirameki's part and a bit of growing a thicker skin on Zerayla's part.

- Going "ok, you were mean and hurtful, oh and I'm also gonna bring up some other stuff I didn't like about you - even though I haven't mentioned this before so you had no real reason to know it was bugging me that much, and certainly had no opportunity to do anything about it, I was still secretly holding it against you and will punish you for it now, BEGONE" is *not* anywhere remotely near the most civilized consequence. Especially, of course, when I put it that way. :P

It is, in general, Very Poor Form to get back at someone for one incident and just so happen to bring in all sorts of other stuff that you hadn't discussed with them until then. If it bugged you enough to bring into that discussion, then it should have bugged you enough to have dealt with it already. If it didn't, then it doesn't deserve to be brought into the new concern either.

Protip: learn to communicate with people about things as they come up, not just keep a hidden little list in your head and get rid of people when the list gets long enough. :P

- Disagreeing with said, very arguably poor, leadership decision is totally understandable. As noted above, the leadership should be open to criticism and even willing to change their minds giving a counterargument. (Or even given such evil horrible usurping as re-pearling someone. Heaven only knows, that sort of thing just makes shells fall apart left and right.) Doing such things as banning people from forums, talking in rhetorical circles and obviously not listening, and having a history of "I'm always right and anyone who disagrees with me is therefore wrong" is a strong indicator that said leadership is *not* open to criticism, whatever claims it may make to the contrary.

If the *real* flow of discussion goes more like "oh sure, I'm listening to you, uh huh, uh huh, what was that dear, oh yes, mm hmm, that's nice... now that we've talked about it I'll just do what I was going to do anyway" ... well, that's quite obviously not listening, being open-minded, and being willing to change your mind, now is it? :P

- Going on a further booting spree because of being disagreed with and Having Your Authority Challenged (the horror! think of the poor egos) is just plain childish. It is far from a sensible solution to disagreement, to simply get rid of everyone who disagrees with you. Nobody with any sense of individuality will always agree with you on everything, so if you haven't already, grow up and learn to accept people disagreeing with you and people disliking you, and be able to come to some sort of compromise work with them in your group *anyway* if the group is better off for it. Even if you, Almighty Super Important Leader, are not better off for it. (Oh, and don't assume that you have absolutely perfect knowledge of what's best for the group.)

- Talking in rhetorical circles to the tune of "I shouldn't have to tell you what the problem is" is a form of passive aggression, although it's most commonly seen in arguments amongst romantic couples. :P It is *not*, more to the point, restrained objective leadership. And a leader, if asked their reasoning for a decision, should give it. All of it. Unless, of course, they *just* gave it, in which case they're quite entitled to spout a line about not wanting to repeat what they just said. (That was not the case here.)

And if their reasoning doesn't make sense when presented logically and objectively, they should be prepared to deal with the backlash, including backpedaling and changing their mind. (People often seem to take the axiom of "stick to your guns" waaaaaaay further than they should, often out of sheer stubbornness and not wanting to admit they were wrong.)
 
I agree Vilurum. The was a massive lack of communication. The first attempt at such a dialogue by myself was met with silence on the part of Zerayla. The second was after my pearl had been shattered.

This is how it has always been. Xean and Zer get there mind set on something and they take sides. They don't listen to the one who used to be the 3rd founder.. (me) I don't even know why I tried to defend people because I was always shut out as if my opinion didn't matter anyway. That is part of the reason I gave kirameki his pearl back. If I had said anything it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
