Abj in treasure boxes... sounds like bullshit to me. I think the major hackers would stop botting kings and just hack themselves the abjs they wanted. Dude sounds like an idiot to me. Some loser trying to be cool.

figured id check what was goin on over there. and give a little insight.
Back in the day, before zilart there was a little exploit where you send yourself all your gil to your delievery box, get a program called Bandwith controller and create some artificial lag. open your delievery box, turn on the lag right as you grab your gil, wait a sec, turn off lag. you would have gotten your gil, but there will still be some in the delievery box...thus doubling what you had.
A pretty well known exploit by even non hackers.
Well this was patched.
Every item in the game has its own individual code when its dropped/created whatever, when it comes to exist it has its own code.
Every single piece of gil has its own code.
The patch, what it did was whenever a code like that was duplicated it flagged an immediate GM call on its own, and a GM came to get you.
Now with the abjuration thing, you cannot control what code an item gets when you make it appear on the server, This isnt just abjurations by the way. you could do this with ANY ITEM. but the chances of it actually creating its own code when making the item appear...was very slim and very risky.
Honestly, had this been safer and easier youd see people runnin around in bad ass gear all the time right?
sadly the only place ive seen this work was in a now faded offline server of ffxi. it was the only safe inviroment to test it, i know a few people made new accounts to test it on official servers, and of course got banned rather fast. but it worked. not sure of its liability now, but there is stuff coming out with that ability like i said before with that new windower.
Theres a new offline server coming out tho called PXI or something like that, they have it working and stuff, just adding npc's and quests and whatnot.
just wanted to clear up why anyone who knew about that hack (maybe 4% of the entire FFXI population...or less) didnt use it, or were smart enough not to and just stuck to claim botting.
