if the hackers help you at say.. hmm... Hakutaku.. that's NOT benefitting you? Say.. they are the only WHM there that heals and raises any that die.. hmm... that's not benefitting you? Personally I'm not sure how they are hacking during that (unless it was obvious) but would you not agree that.. well... that's benefitting you?

edit: if you mean that they don't help anyone ethically or morally, I agree.. but in terms of attaining a goal or item.. well..I'm sure a hacker has aided you or others in the past.

How does a hacker benefit me, when there is NO NEED for a hacker to begin with?

If they hack, and there is no need for it whatsoever, then they say, "Hay I hacked Hakutaku. You can thank me for your O.Hat now."

if they were the only WHM there and they were the only ones really curing and raising (let's say it was a pick up group and they had barely enough to win). That sounds like they'd be benefitting you. And anyone that hacks and takes claim for something completely is stupid.. I guess this was just a miss use of words really.. benefit no.. helped.. yes.. that they helped you to win is more towards what I mean.
 
So the WHM is curing and raising and happens to be the only one there...What are they doing to hack?

The situation desribed sounds like poor planning to begin with. A pickup party with barely enough to win? Bad idea from the get go.

Not really. You're not really saying WHAT it is they are doing aside from hacking in general (which is wrong to begin with)....But it would depend on what they are doing, what hacks they are using that will describe HOW they are benefitting me?

And they aren't benefitting anyone to begin with.
NOBODY NEEDS HACKS IN THIS SITUATION OR ANY OTHER.

ah, but you seemed to be missing the wording again then.. I said the hackers aided you.. never necessarily said the hacks were :P though if the hacker is aiding you and the hacks are aiding him/her than the hacks would be indirectly aiding you.

and true, no one needs hacks to beat shit in this game but that's usually not why people hack.. most hack (it seems) to get around faster (POS hacks, flee hacks) or actually get claim on something to fight it.. not to actually aid them during the fight (except OH.. lol)

OK, so hacking is wrong to begin with, not necessary in the slightest, and in this case they aren't even hacking.................................

This would be like me knowing Chasym is a hacker, and he happens to be in a pick up party for Haku. We fight for victory, he doesn't hack in the slightest.

How then does Chasym as a known hacker benefit me or anyone else?
And if he did hack at the fight (even though you won't say HOW), how has he benefitted me or anyone else, considering the hacking was totally unnecessary?
 
I don't know what hacks would benefit in that kinda fight other than maybe if haku kills the only tank and hate is on chasym (let's say) and he flee hacks (though not at flee speed or something) around the area to keep it up and not killing others? I don't know really.. I'm just trying to point out that you've probably had help witht hings from a hacker, you said hackers have never aided you it seems, but a hacker most likely HAS helped you, maybe not hacking at the time, but because they aren't hacking at that time but do hack normally, are they not still hackers?
 
If they are hacking at the time or not, they are benefitting nobody.
Like everyone has agreed, they've been in parties with hackers and gone and accomplished things.
So?
Their existance in the PT means nothing. The fact that they are a hacker, hacking at the time or not is not a benefit to the PT.
Why?
The party doesn't need the hacker to accomplish anything at all. So where is the benefit of having a hacker in your PT?
 
you're being just stupid.. a hacker joins your party and exps, they obviously helped you gain exp during that time, therefor they aided in your leveling.. they might not have been needed but they still helped!
 
required presence does not dictate validity. Needed or not they were there, saying they do nothing of benefit to others is a bit too bold. They are simply players who happen to hack more often then not. You make it entirely too personal and black/white when the truth is somewhere in a happier patch of grey.

No. You've missed the point time and time again...

They helped in XP or any other fight as much as the next guy. Given that they could be replaced with a legit player and the same result can be had, where is the benefit of a hacker?

I agree, they are 1 more person in the party, doing the same things as anyone else. But if we aren't describing a particular thing they are doing as an added hacker trick or some shit, then they are just a normal player...

But since we're talking about what a hacker brings to the table in any given situation, and the fact that it is not needed, where is the benefit? What is that? Nobody seems to have an answer for that question.

but that wasn't the point from the beginnig.. the point was that at some point a hacker HAS helped other players and probably you in the game. That was the point... not whether they are really needed, but the point that they HAVE helped you in an exp party or a BCNM or whatever it might be that you were with a hacker and you gained from their presence. I really don't see what the problem was.. no one was really saying a hacker is needed to do anything.. the point was that hackers have most like helped you out at some point and you weren't even aware they were hackers :|
