Again! But this time... it's on purpose.

Thanks to all my OMF friends: Gain, Eleibfrid, Vilurum, Jimera, Misi, Zebix, Alyada, Miros, Welkin, Jamba, Mercator, Darkdrifter, Eilistrae, Canitoch, Myrid, Noule, the Mansuura, and Steelfist!



I'll be logging on sometime this week to give away all my things. No, I won't be back. No, I'm not going to sell my account. I'm going to delete my characters, then delete my content ID's.

I'll still be around QCDN, but after this week you won't see Excim running around.

I had a lot of fun playing around in Vanadiel with you all, but after everything said and done... I really hate MMORPG's. I'll never play another one ever again.

Excim: Sorry to see you go, but honestly, MMOs *do* suck up a ton of time. And if you're not enjoying it and you'd rather not have it leeching away your time from stuff you *do* enjoy in RL... you should absolutely quit the game if it'll make you happier.

Just avoid the ensuing pitfall: you're gonna have a lot more free time. Don't unintentionally wind up wasting that on something *else* - there are plenty of non-MMO time wasters out there too, and hell, forums like this one are an example of that. Be sure your freed-up time is spent doing what you really want to be doing.

Didn't know you well Excim, but you always seemed like a good guy to me. Take care of yourself and good luck in RL.

For real, I had just came back last October, attained 75, played in Dynamis and Sky, and even met some new, great people. But trying to juggle a new career, (more) school, and a new relationship with an on-the-way child... yeah... ...I've got my hands full.

But to be honest, this is the best I've ever felt about my life, and this just seems like the right move. :biggrin:

hey, I think you made the right choice, you'll have your hands completely full! You wouldn't have time for FFXI anyway!

As I understand it, Fumoffu is a deity created by a few people to embody thier feelings of hopelessness and greed. As in: Before you claim an NM or fight a tough boss battle, you yell "Praise Fumoffu!". That way, if you get a great drop or the outcome is good, it is because Fumoffu had smiled on you and bestowed you with the win. But if the drop is bad, or you die, then Fumoffu is testing you, wanting you to become better. (Christians may find this idea to be a bit familiar...)

If things go very badly, then everyone just blames Slappybag. It's easier than yelling at other party members or your friends.


Is it silly? Yes, it is. But it has made for some pretty entertaining conversations in LS chat on those long NM hunt nights...
 
i don't know you too well, but good luck with everything, and i hope you succeed and lead a properous(sp?) life. congratulations on the job and baby =P
