Now, before we get started, I'm not an elitist. If you have sub-par gear I wont cut into, i wont tell you you suck or disband the party. But sometimes, I just have to think to myself... WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THIS GUY.

Enurta. Currently a lvl 50 Sam (maybe one reason it bothers me, to think someone like this is playing my job...), i saw him when he was 45ish or something and thought WOW, that is some shitty gear. But, i thought i'd give him the benifit of the doubt, maybe he just did a cap mission or something. So i didn't flame him or anything. Saw him again the other day, 50 sam now as i mentioned, and im pretty sure his gear hasn't changed. I mean my god is it shitty gear, here ill show you....

A rabit mantle... A FUCKING RABIT MANTLE AT LVL 50. At least antdog tries. And shit, maybe hes new, maybe he has no idea what hes doing. Then someone please FUCKING TELL HIM. I mean the least he could do is look at Gamefaqs and see what a sam needs. Shit, an NQ bone earring? You could buy and HQ beetle earring with money from crystals you get in one pt selling them to an npc....

Now like i said, im not one to cut into people, but im surprised this guy is lvl 50. Has no one in any of his pts said anything? His linkshell is EternalofWind, maybe one of you guys posts here and can talk to him about how shitty his gear is. I'd say something, but most people don't take advice from someone they don't know, not to mention I don't know what to say without sounding like a prick.

So yeah, just a heads up to you QCDN folks levelin up a job around 50, and to anyone who knows this guy and would be willing to talk to him. Thanks.

Well your probably right,..he is new or maybe he doesn't know how to manipulate the AH to his benefit inorder to make sufficent income for his character,..but what really bothers me about your post;with all due respect to you is the part where you state: "And shit, maybe hes new, maybe he has no idea what hes doing. You state: (maybe one reason it bothers me, to think someone like this is playing my job...).Maybe you should take the initiative to send him a friendly tell in a non-condescending manner and give him a few pointers.

By you stating this:"I'd say something, but most people don't take advice from someone they don't know, not to mention I don't know what to say without sounding like a prick" shows that you didn't mention anything to him,..and what makes him different from antdog is that nowhere in this flame does it show this guy knocking or degrading someone else's gear.

Its not nice to flame people that don't know any better gearwise. =(
 
Unless you're some sort of loaner with no friends you learn how gear helps by lvl 20. So being a lvl 50 newb with gear like that isn't really a good excuse unless he bought the account.
 
The last Rabbit Mantle+1 sold for 2k. I won't even get started on the Fang Necklace. There's a difference between not knowing any better and just not even trying at all. This is obviously a case of the latter.
 
After posts,..I sat back and thought of another reason as to why his gear is that bad. Either he is an rmt,..or like Myrrh stated,..he pirchased that account.

Or hes just dumb. And avalar, like i said, most people don't accept advice from strangers. Look in any thread, such as antdogs, and you see multiple people talking about how he gets pissy if you give him advice. Thats why i suggested maybe someone in his linkshell talk to him, or one of his friends. If it continues on, and he still doesnt update his gear in a few lvls, i probably will send him a tell.
 
From your pictures it looks like you were in a city. Did you ever think that maybe he wasn't geared to party? I'm not condoning if that's his exp'ing gear but if he's in a city who gives a fuck what he's wearing? Sometimes I run around in my shittiest jumble of gear from all levels while I'm running around in cities just because I can and because I don't need to impress anyone. I didn't know I had to break out my best just to walk around.

Like Avalar said he'd probably benefit from someone just taking a few minutes and bringing him up to speed. I know I'm not perfect and I truly appreciate anyone who doesn't act like an ass when taking a second to give me a piece of advice if they know better than me. He may feel the same way, but you'll never know until you try. And then, if he's an ass, come back and let us know and then we can REALLY flame him. ;)
 
I think I would equip a Soboro if I had one...Albeit in town or battle.
 
And yeah it's a good idea to try talking to him before flaming here. Who knows if he would accept your advice or not.

When I was around level 60-66 on DRK, I was told great sword is needed for Spinning Slash. My great sword was around level 100-120 and it took over a month skilling to 225. It was great to follow that advice, even with how long it took. Later on in the game I met up with that player again in HNMPT & lolDynamis, that player was Kiiro.^^

I see what you guys are saying, but not having Gsword lvl'd and using NQ lvl 16 earrings is a little different. And, this is more of an informative post then anything. I just noticed this guy is REALLY badly geared, and if i was starting a PT around 50, i wouldn't invite him, thought you guys might like to know too.

Yeah that's true, it's a good warning. Like a few said earlier, maybe he bought the account. That's probably one of the best explanations considering how the majority of people progress through the game.

I understand what you are getting at and it all makes perfect sense to me,but you can't go generalizing everyone based on someone who was an out right prick on the flames to begin with. Antdog instigated that by randomly sending a tell to that person and talking trash about his/her gear. Now on the other hand, you wouldn't know how well this person takes constructive criticism because you haven't approached him yet.
 
Well while the gear was unquestionably crappy, I *would* like to point out his alternative options for melee back slot gear at 50.

30: Wyvern Mantle (6 att if /DRG, which he wasn't).
40: Agile Mantle (1 acc).
47: Jaguar Mantle (3 att).
50: Sniper's Mantle (2 att).

Note that none of them are particularly impressive options (and the Agile Mantle has, moreover, no price history on our server, or most servers for that matter). There's just not anything by way of *good* melee back pieces until 55 (CP mantle) or 61 (Amemet/+1). The above stuff is better than nothing, true, but not all *that* much better than nothing.

Granted, in his case, the choice of Rabbit Mantle in conjunction with the rest of it does still say gimp (at least he could go for a pure-defense backpiece with more than 1 def). But in general, don't expect a melee to have a very impressive back piece at 50. :P

I fail to see how calling that guy out on such shitty gear is elitest. Would you party with someone wearing that mantle at lvl 50? I sure as hell wouldn't. Then again, I AM an elitest prick. And damn proud of it.
 
People who use Signal Pearls, level one starter rings or empress bands in exp parties irk me. :3
 
Cmon now, what fuckstick doesnt level Scythe and Gsword evenly?

DRK have it easy as far as weapon caps for quite a while.
