Sorry, spaced out and posted in the wrong site. Have another site opened up in another window and was arguing about Scythe to Gsword cap ratio.

Hah, keeping Scythe and G.sword capped in xp is almost impossible if you wind up with decent parties through the 50s and 60s. You have to do skillup parties just to keep ahead of the damn things, and it can get annoying. I can't think of any other job that's expected to have 2 high-delay weapons leveled, and don't bring up WAR's plethora of weapons they never use for anything other than fun.

As for the subject of this thread... Honestly, when I was just a wee noob, struggling to stay ahead of my gear needs, I was still considerably better equipped than this guy. I took the time to learn what was important for my job(s) and did my best to acquire it.

Besides, it's not like he's a gimpy WAR. He's a gimpy SAM, and that means that he's already had to level at least one job to 30. (Presumably WAR, which was presumably as gimp as his SAM)

Of course, it's possible he's just lazy and hasn't bothered to read up on what's expected of him, or that he's stupid and hasn't realized how good of an idea it would be to research gear. In that case, telling him that he might consider doing some research and farming up enough gil to break away from the label of "incredibly gimp".

o.o; I used Magaroku until about 50 myself.

I'v got Puissance Rings, which is bassically one strength less than that Garnet Ring.

The only real problem I have is the Rabbit Mantle =/ Otherwise I don't mind his gear too much.

When I was a 30 whm (my first job ever, over 3 years ago) I was using lv 9-11 gear......but I was so young to know how to play.

Maybe this dude is just a little kid. Like my 8 yr old kid brother plays WoW. "Plays", lol. All he does is move the character around sometimes and has his dad do all his hard stuff (lvling, buying/selling gear, talking to people, instances....pretty much everything) But his gear was still sometimes gimp...coz he'd equip himself sometimes. ja.

That's muh story.

- Nq bone ring is just, unacceptable, its even bad at 16
- Signal pearl is just a no no
- Fang necklace again, crap, the HQ is like 5k
- His rings are... meh, should have puiss, but atleast he tried there
- Moogle belt... not when tilt is like 3k, should have a life belt though
- Rabbit mantle, come on...
- The AF GK is do able, mika would be a lil better, and odenta is like 400k so i can see that.
- As far as his actual body equipment, there isnt one good peice. The feet MAYBE, but there is better. Any of the lvl 25 mnk/sam/nin is better, shoot a power gi is better than what he has. And none of it is terribly expensive, especially if you just get the Windy stuff and not the fed stuff. I mean, you should farm for a gi since they are what, 200k now? Its not dirt cheap, but its def doable.

Theres a difference between not having top gear (juji, okote, +1HQ rings etc) and have stuff that is ridiculous to use at 50. I'm sad that you play Sam and think his gear is acceptable inari...

2 handed weaps are a different box of frogs, and take a fair chunk of effort to keep capped out. if your going to be versatile for xp parties prepare to spend alot of time outside of xp parties and alot more time in skillup parties.

What's wrong with coming off as a prick? There is no possible way of telling someone their gear is bad without sounding like a prick. You know why? Everyone, in their own eyes, are the best. Even hinting that something they do is wrong makes people get in to a defensive mode. Reason they don't react the same way with someone they know, is because they have pre-programmed in to the brain that that person is nice, and thus don't react the same way. Giving him pointers in obtaining better gear would still put him in a defensive mode, but he doesn't necessarily make him bite back.

Don't just post it and ask someone else to do it. Do it yourself. Don't just simply make a post and ask someone else to do it. Even if someone else do it, it won't have the same effect as with several people do it, friend or not. The reason so we have so many high-level noobs with sucky gear is because everyone's too much of a pussy to say something. "Oh, I don't want to offend him! He might not like me and don't want to party with em after that!". Seriously, do you want to party with him again? Are you selfish enough to put others in that situation just because you don't dare sound like a prick?

And guess what, friends won't say anything to him. Proof is in the Antdog thread you speak about.

I'll send him a tell later when I see him on. Take it or leave it, but I'd recommend you do the same, even if its just to make you a man instead of a mouse.

Speaking of which, on my COR a while ago I partied with a THF that used N.Q lvl 14 DEX rings, fang necklace, and overall shitty equipment. I cussed him out, and the SMN started defending him. Sadly, the SMN were leader, so I couldn't simply kick him from the party either. So I ended up leaving, without -shock- replacing myself. Ironically the SMN started attempting to insult me in /shout in Bhaflau, apparently attempting to let everyone know what a selfish prick I am for not inviting someone else to a 2k/hr party at lvl 64.

The other members ended up leaving later.
 
I had a WHM named Amethyst in some of my NIN parties mid to late 60's that rocked signal pearl, and no head piece cause AF looked ugly.

Hyphyx a 70+ SAM now is just ridiculous.

I should write out a list one day of the worst players I've ever partied with.

This is how elitism starts, welcome to the club. I used to not care, game is for fun yadaddada. Then I started to care because I would spend a lot of time farming and I would see the same gimps I got out of a party with 2 days ago, 5 levels higher using the same shitty gear.

Before I would say Garnett is ok, but I think the HQ is like 20-30k now, and if you can't be bothered to raise that, you should just gauge yourself.

The economy may be up and down, but the basics of earning gil stay the same.

Yeah i know. I didn't care as much before, but now with everything being cheap it seems to get to me more.

Also, when it comes down to it, he just doesnt know what gear is good for sam. I check FFXIAH and the lvl 25 Windy Tekko are 4k, which is the same price as his raptor gloves. +2 acc might not be much, but it sure is hell is better then the shit he has on.
