i want an ra/ex GTK... help?

So there's this NM, a scorpion, called Amikiri. It spawns in Gustav Tunnel. I want the great katana that it carries.

Supposedly, it has 89.1% drop rate, and lottery spawns roughly every 4 hours. How does one get something like this?

If anyone wants to camp this sucker, i would love to go with. I figure, a bunch of 70 Samurai can go and tear these up, and have a huge competition on the lot. I don't know. Are there people that help out others with this sort of absurd quest?

Supposedly, killed by 10 characters lvl 70-75. Anyone wanna go? Or, can anyone point me in a good direction to people that might wanna go? Or, is this quest of mine foolhardy, and this GTK remains unattainable...?

Unless they changed Amikiri since i haven't been ingame (a good 5-6 months), you can duo this NM quite easily. People solo this even; but 10x 75's is overkill...
 
A RDM can solo Amikiri, he's not that hard.
 
are there any resources, for like ToD for these type mobs? or do you just have to get lucky?

Can't a RDM solo just about anything? <.< :ph34r:

But aye, most of the "suggested" numbers for parties against an NM are usually overkill.

Like the sphinx's for Bastok mission 6-1. I kept getting told a full party of 75's with a blink tank and a designated healer.

We ended up trio'ing it with a 75 PLD, 75 SMN and 47 WAR.

By having posted this topic, its possible someone who has recently killed it might PM you the ToD (you'd have to be lucky to have that happen)

Best plan, would be to grab some friends (do you have a social shell?) and head out there and just kill for a few hours and hope that the window opens quickly.

It says on Wikipedia that the respawn for the window is 8hrs. (Go go FFXI time sink!)
 
He's rarely killed since he doesn't drop a venomous claw anymore, he should either be up already or spawn after a couple rounds of PH's.
