Anna Nicole Smith

Reality star Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.
Smith, 39, did not respond to CPR, and her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, was with her when she passed, her attorney, Ron Rale, told FOX News.
The former Playboy Playmate was found unresponsive Thursday in her Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino room in Hollywood, Fla.
Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene and a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat, hotel officials told TMZ.com. Smith was immediately transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. EST.

Local streets were closed off to rush Smith to the hospital, three miles away. Paramedics were seen pumping her chest as she was taken from the hotel.

Smith has been no stranger to tragedy. Her 20-year-old son Daniel Smith died in his mother's hospital room in the Bahamas in September, three days after she gave birth to a baby girl, later named Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern.

An American medical examiner hired by the family, Cyril Wecht, said Daniel had methadone and two antidepressants in his system when he died. Low levels of the three drugs interacted to cause an accidental death, Wecht said.

She has also had legal troubles. Smith's current boyfriend and longtime lawyer Howard K. Stern, 38, says he is the father of Dannielynn. But Smith's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, 32, claims he's the father, and has sued to demand a paternity test.

Last month, a judge in the baby dispute temporarily blocked an order forcing her daughter to undergo paternity testing.

Rale questioned the legality of the test, saying Bahamian authorities needed to grant work permits before an American doctor could conduct the test.

The judge granted a stay pending a hearing which was supposed to take place this week.

Birkhead's attorney, Debra Opri, called Rale's request "a delay tactic." Birkhead sued in October to get a paternity test.

Meanwhile, in a lawsuit filed last Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Smith and TrimSpa Inc. were sued in a class-action lawsuit alleging their marketing of a weight-loss pill is false or misleading.

Early Years
Anna Nicole Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 27, 1968.

As a teenager, she worked at a fried chicken restaurant, and married Billy Smith at age 17 in 1985. The same year she had son Daniel Smith, but then divorced Billy and became a single mother in 1987.

Smith worked a string of minimum wage jobs before turning to stripping. She met oil mogul J. Howard Marshall II in 1991 in Houston at a nightclub, where he was a frequent patron and she worked as an exotic dancer.
Smith married Marshall, 63 years older than she, on June 27, 1994. She was 26, he was 89. The age difference sparked criticism and speculation, but Smith defended her marriage.

Smith claimed to be very close to the aging billionaire and that while they loved each other, they married for companionship and his desire to support her rather than the conventional husband and wife lifestyle.
When he died Aug. 4, 1995, Smith's fight with his son E. Pierce Marshall began for her share of the inheritance. She was accompanied by Howard’s other son, whom he’d disowned.

In 2002, she was awarded $88 million, but that was reversed on appeal in 2004 when the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals deemed her not one of Marshall's heirs. The Supreme Court decided in 2005 to hear her appeal of that decision.

Her case reached the Supreme Court in February 2006 on the issue of the right of a federal judge to intervene in a state probate case.
Anna won unanimously in a 9-0 vote announced May 1, 2006. She has not won her share of the estate entirely, but rather won the right to fight for it in federal court per the majority opinion written by Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The case is Marshall v. Marshall, 04-1544.

E. Pierce Marshall, however, died suddenly at the age of 67 due to an unspecified infection on June 20, 2006. The family has stated that they will continue to fight Anna's claims to the fortune.

Other than small roles in movies like "Naked Gun 33 1/3," Smith has appeared mostly in soft-core porn movies. In 2002, E! Entertainment television gave Smith her own reality show called "The Anna Nicole Show" in the spirit of "The Osbournes."

I was eatting in the dorm cafeteria today and saw that she died. Then the table next to me saw it but didn't pay attention to what the news report was saying and started dogging on her. Then the guy at the table goes "The only reason she this bitch should get this much news coverage is if she died..." Which i promptly turn around and said, "She did."

Wow, wasn't expecting that! 50 gil says its an Overdose.

I wasn't a fan, but definitely think it is sad. What a rough year for her family w/ the son dying and the lawsuit about her daughter. I am assuming the death was drug-related (Girlfriend spoke her own damned language, she was clearly always high on something) but the cynical side of me wonders if she knew the baby might get taken away from her and offed herself.

lmao, so true.

Holy crap, didn't see that coming... pretty sad story. Had to giggle at a couple parts though:

a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat
Paramedics were seen pumping her chest
These dudes had to have found some level of enjoyment in this.

Glad to see someone else follows my train of thought...

and the genepool rejoices!

When I saw the Fox News thing I thought it was a joke...

Kinda sad though.

It wasn't an overdose, it was a drug having a bad reaction with antidepressants. lol. drugs did kill her, but in the lamest possible way.

Still sucks though, RIP

I was totally thinking..wouldnt be the first time.

I heard this in english in school. We were working diligently and my teacher goes Anna Nicole Smith died. We all turn our heads go what? Then kind of laughed and felt bad alittle for the baby girl. Although if you think about it the baby MAY be better off with out Smith raising her. I mean Smith had kind of a messed up life and all. The baby will get the inheritence or will go to the paternal father for care until the baby is old enough to manage the funds.

My ideas of death:

A) OD on a drug
B) Alcohol poisoning
C) Mixture of drugs not meant to be mixed
D) Mixing alcohol and drugs
E) all of the above

Is this like one of those things where you "Die" and then come back, primarily for attention. She's like Tupac, only...with bigger hoots.

isn't Tupac actually dead? XD I'm so not sure about him anymore.
