So lets say you are all alone wandering thru Altepa. All of the sudden you draw agro from one of those stupid anticans that remain Easy Preay from lvl 55-65. Ya know the ones I'm talkin about, the pld kind.

so you get attacked by this EP that's gonna take you 10 minutes to kill.

If you start to run from it, then turn your modem off till it's down to about 10% recieving, then turn it back on so that your body moves about 2 squares on the map grid instantly....

Is the Antican gonna be way the hell far away from you?

If so, is this cheating?

when you turn the modem off and then back on again you will likely have been fully disconnected and as far as SE is concerned you're quad in a wheelchair sitting there to be hit.

I used to kill the PLD ants in eastern desert for skillups. At the time they were EP. I can't remember my level but it was sometime around LV61~64 I was skilling up. As a bard with a uncapped sword skill they only took me about 4mins to kill them.

But ya, when you DC you are getting hit. A way to cheat this out is to press alt+esc, but SE says this can mess up your data.

That "instant jumping" isn't really what you think it is. You're still running normal speed, but you're just not seeing it anymore. When you all of a sudden get a signal telling you where you've run to, it only looks like you ran 2 blocks in 5 seconds.

And turning off your modem won't cause this. When you turn off your modem, your send/recieve will both be 0 and you can't move at all. When your "instant jumping" happens, your Recieving is down but your sending is still up. That's actually the server or your ISP giving you partial connection.
