Just figured I would share some info with everyone. Just recently I received some $1000 worth of charges to my credit card that I obviously didn't charge. Well about $960 was to some company called Lenovo and the rest was to a company called Billed123.com. Lenovo sells computers and such. Well someone basically charged my card for 2 Ipads but had them shipped to me. Well after close inspection of the box with the 2 Ipads i noticed a weird sticker. The sticker said "If you didn't order this product from Lenovo call 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx You may be the victim of fraud and identity theft." Seriously how is a company that needs to be this sticker on items they ship still in business.

Billed123.com seems to be a software company I haven't done as much research on them yet.

Good news is I will be getting everything back and a new card of course.

Actually, I would guess they don't put that sticker on ALL of their shipments. They probably found the order strange and stuck that sticker on the package in case it was identity theft.

Usually when the company I work at find an order strange, we do background checks to make sure it isn't identity theft before we ship it, but we are a rather small company. Larger companies can't do that. I'm guessing the sticker is their solution to suspicious orders.

I recently had a similar situation with PayPal, someone bought an EVE Online character + currency + subscription fees using my account...

My card got declined at Red Lobster. I was super pissed because i don't carry cash, so i had to sit at the table and talk on the phone with the bank. It turns out that someone spent a little over 5 grand on car repairs out in California.

The bank person told me that in order to see if your card works, the stealer will make a donation to a charity and if that goes through, then they spend like nobody's business.
