Worst abyssea party ive ever had.
On bats
1 party with dds and a pld
1 party with blm, rdm, whm , 2 pld and a brd
my party with smn , war , pup, thf me blm and whm

So we start and who pulls, yeah the snm.
I ask why isnt thf pulling, he starts and then find bard cant sleep for shit and the rdm is /whm. Awsome.
After i while i checked the party setup as we were killing slow to find where the bard was. So i asked if the bard could swap with the pld for 2 x marches.
Can of worms opened.

I start by trying to get the bard moved saying it would benifit more. Some agree.
The leader in the dd party dont accept the bard after several tries and reinvites the pld.
I try to say its affecting everyones exp and time. And then after a few more tries leave.

Also had a great comment i missed to fraps when the smn tells the rdm "I find the dark staff helps more when casting sleep" lol

all I see in the entire thread is YOU being a douche and trying to rock the boat. If 17/18 people want it a specific way then go with it... don't like it? LEAVE.

Did you join the party or did you join a bunch of others that were already formed and just needed a few fillers.

Seriously, if you don't like the way OTHERS took the time to form a run... then make your own.... JUST like he said.
 
In cases like this one, I always just stuck with my gut. If I didn't like the setup or it simply wasn't doing what I needed, then I would be very courteous and get a replacement. I would speak to the party leader in private chat and ask him if he wanted a replacement for me because the party didn't suit my needs. Maybe once in 5+ years playing someone was a prick about it, and if they were then boohoo to them. Typically we addressed the issue like adults. Flames like this are pointless and not worth mentioning.

His party, his rules, case closed.
 
Another fail flame from a fail player. At this point, this late in the game's life, is it really worth it to throw this much of a bitch fit?
 
Just curious but shouldnt this flame be in the FFXI section, unless they have abyssea in 14?

It's a combined flameboard, issues of both games can be written here.
The XI section also doesn't have a flameboard, if we were to work with two flameboards my head would splode.
 
Just when I thought we would go without another flame for a while...

Here's what I have learned... Okay yes some people really shouldn't set up Abyssea EXP if they A. Have no idea what the hell they are doing, B. they are the poppers of the chest and still have no idea what they are doing...

Me personally I won't run an exp pt without people I know because I have learned my lesson more then once. Honestly instead of being disgruntle about it start your own and show people how it's done. I assure you coming here and telling people how you would have done it isn't a way to stand. It's not that people should avoid them and of course you want to speak up is something is truly wrong. My question would be are you getting exp? Did you cap your lights? Are you killing at a steady pace? If all these things are in place and loot is being random and things being put into the pool.... aside from the summoner pull which isn't really a big deal I'd say there was nothing to complain about. Just because you wanted to move around some people doesn't make it a bad party if everything else is in place.

Sometimes the saying "If you want something done right, do it yourself" applies and then Sometime the saying "Too many Chiefs... not enough Indians" applies...
I'll let you figure out which one you want to run with...
 
This was mostly anoyance toward basic mechanics of how to setup basic partys to help everyone get the most out of playing. I mean comeon, how long has this game been out for.
As to the responses. I did go after trying to get my point across against seriously jumped up ignorance about game mechanics.
Was like talking to kids with fingers in their ears singing lalalalala.
Anyway, in response to above, we made 10 k in about an hour, people died a few times and everything was going very slowly.
So in bringing it here was more of a warning to not accept an invite from said players if your not happy with garbage exp.
If you are, then more power to you. Go join the gimps and their 1 brd singing 2 x ballad to the pld party, smn pulling single mobs at a time because the alliance cant handle links and people not knowing that a dark staff helps sleeps. i dont give a dam.
And to jyak and his little sheep, there was at least 3 other players that wasn't happy with this i was the only one to start to say it in /party and i joined at 8/18 so kindly stfu Ahole. Because the latter was done after i left too.

Take Meikolia's advise, don't trust others? Do it yourself!

Perhaps, we have been troll'd. I mean, after all the honest advice that was given his reply is still that of a conflicted and misunderstanding individual. At this point, I have to believe this is troll bait. You know kids these days...they love to create drama from nothing. I blame too much Jersey Shore. MTV needs to play music videos again and leave the reality TV where it belongs, in the trash.
 
LolFFXIdrama. I'm looking forward to FFXIV. I just hope it won't be ridiculous there.

A lot of people just don't know how to play FFXI anymore and the game is springing up with a lot of noobs with the quick gain of exp. That's just the path of FFXI, and the game is simply just stuck with these retards that we have to deal with.

I thought the first hour would be slow anyways since you don't cap upwards to 500-600 per kill until after an hour or two depending on your luck with lights.

Don't count on it, that's wishful thinking.
It's a mmorpg, you are bound to run into people that have barely enough braincells to breathe, eat, talk and manage to control a keyboard.

If you want to avoid those, stick to single player games.
 
I would have listed their faults of failing basic game mechanics and disbanded the party WITHOUT sending a poor rep to his demise.

Wrong approach to a bad situation but I'll play the devil's advocate anyhow.

Firstly, even the BRD wanted to change spots with the PLD in the DD party.

Charlo has good points on why this party failed so hard.

The alliance in question has HUGE problems, nevermind the abundance of useless PLDs in Abyssea.

1. BRD in the wrong party.
2. WHM in the wrong party.
3. SMN in the wrong party.
4. Too many PLD in one ally.

What they should have done:

1. BRD should be singing march/march for the DD party and ballad/ballad for the WHM.
2. WHM should have been casting haste for the DD party.
3. SMN should have been full timing Diabolo's favor and hasting/healing the 2nd DD party. (/WHM = Haste+Cure IV)
4. It only requires one PLD to take mobs from the puller and hold them. (A lot of other jobs can do this too.)

Why did they choose such a weird setup?

1. BRD was probably keeping Ballad up for the sponge..er "tank" party.
2. WHM for the big cures on their mighty paladins.
3. They don't understand /WHM?
4. BUT PLD NEEDS EXP TOOOOOOO.

March+March has a huge affect on kill speed. Which in turn = faster chains and faster light progression.
 
Who is the ally leader? I'd like to avoid such people.

Shit happens, you could have left when you saw the setup. Instead you stuck around for bad exp. I stand by my original statement "You could have formed your own party instead of bitching and griping about something you could have left BEFORE the party headed out... MIND YOU that you said you were in the party 8/18. No one cares :\
