what would you do? very interested to hear peoples definitions of utopia or a better world

keep it clean, will post mine after some meditation

I would change people's attitudes, everyone I meet is mean, so I would want people to be nice and accepting of others. I think the world would be a much better place if we didn't look down on others, like gays or other races.

That's it really, hating one another for little reasons is retarded

I wouldn't change a thing.

id' change it so reishu touches me daily

Make it so there isn't any illnesses on earth

I'd eliminate the exsitance of consiquence and guilt, giving everyone ultimate free will, thus creating pure utter chaos. Oh... and I'd make sunday, "Free Icecream Day." Lol

There's pancake day.

I want a muffin day.

As much as we dont like it we need illnesses to keep our population under control. Population dependent factors occur when a populus goes over its carrying capacity.

Such as starvation, illness, etc. Seeing war of the worlds movie, it made me wonder if I would rather die from cancer than to see my people act like zombies and try to fight and shoot each over for a car.

And starving to death isnt fun either not bashing you just food for thought i guess

Hmm.

First off, I would end all reality shows, and everything on Mtv. This would hurt me too, because I love Flavor of Love, but that's a small price to pay to never see a show like "Why can't I be you?" ever again.

Making/laughing at puns would be rewarded with death.

And I would change it so things didn't cost so much.

I think I'd leave everything else. We need a little war, violence, etc to keep things exciting.

This thread is already on the way to becoming a Miss Universe competition...

"I want world peace, and I want everyone to be happy, and... and... no deaths!"

And not to bash anyone, but... I'd hate to be in a world where everyoen was happy, there were no deaths, and no illness, or any pain. Because without pain, sadness etc. we wouldn't even know the meaning of hapiness etc. You can't feel happy unless you don't know the meaning of the opposite, since you'd always take happiness for granted. And thus, it would defeat the whole meaning of it.

If everyone was nice all the time, you wouldn't think about it, since you'd never know anything else. And thus, it would defeat the whole purpose of the change anyway.

If there were no disease, illness, or death, we would lose out on a lot on other feelings aswell, and not to mention the fact that the world would be so over-populated that we wouldn't be able to stand up anyway.

So personally, I wouldn't change a thing. Although I might have made it so that I, and only me alone, could get anything I want, any time I want, including teleportation skills so I could get to and from any place I want in an instant :p Because if everyoen had that ability, what would be the meaning of it? ;p

its not a competition, its a tool i made to challenge my own way of thinking, and Uzor you have a point, but have you ever read something or played a game and saw a outlandish concept and wondered how it would far in our world?

loloverpopulation
I'd probably make some more 'natural' wonders. Things like the grand canyon, niagara falls etc. I'd probably wipe out a few 3rd world countries and dictatorships. Israel would be gone, Iraq, Iran , most of africa. N Korea would be gone. I'd use the land to make Japan and Canada bigger. Give Canada some southern areas, beaches, resorts, tropical places. Grow a few more rain forests and...

Put all women in dresses just to piss them right the fuck off!

Whenever anyone has an orgasm, they get a cupcake. And I don't mean they can go get one. I mean, "UUUGH," *poof* cupcake.

I'd probably twist time to protect against the 9/11 attacks, and put Al Gore in as president. And then just see what happens.

Oh, and almost forgot. *mind-rapes Canitoch* :3

If I could, simply just make a way that every person on this world has some food to eat everyday. Don't care about anything else, just make sure people wouldn't strave to death, that's all. All the disease and war etc., I wouldn't touch it, but for some reason seeing people really deseprate for food hurts me, so that's all I could think of.

Why does this thread remind me of that PC game Black & White, I really need to play that again now...

EDIT: BTW, if you into comics, read Rising Stars, it's on torrent sites now and in trade paperbacks, 3 volumes, 26 issues total I believe. Near the end they explore this concept, if superhero's used their powers to eliminate the worlds natural problems, hunger, disease, war, etc. It was an interesting take on it, try wikipedia if you just want to spoil it for yourself, but it's an excellent read.

Imo, I never aggreed with statements like these. To me it never made sence. I mean think about it. If we dont know what saddness is, it doesnt mean we experience less joy. It just means that we dont have to be sad. Dont think in extremes, I mean in your everyday life are you either always happy or always sad? No, sometimes your just "meh" and just a boring "regular" day. This is going to sound a little extreme (odd after i just said "dont think in extremes"), but let me put it another way. Do you have to cut off your left hand to appreciate your right? Do you have to lose something to appreciate it more? Sure, the saying of "you only miss something once its gone" is true in a way, but thats only because people tend to take things for granted. If you get rid of that mentality then theres no reason a utopia of "no one is sad" can easily work.

No, but if everyone experienced happiness all the time, everyone would take it for granted. And thus, you wouldn't be able to enjoy it.

Its the same with wanting something badly. You want it because you ca't have it, and when you get it, you feel happy for it a few days or weeks, depending on what it is, but then you don't feel the same anymore because you've gotten used to it.

If you have both of your hands, yes, you can enjoy them, but you're used to it, so you wouldn't be able to know how it felt to be without your hands, untill you lose them both. And if you somehow got them back later, you'd be happy again. But after a while, you'd get used to it again, and thus, it wouldn't be the same anymore.

If the request was just "No one would ever have to feel saddness or sorrow again", then yes, you would be partly right. But you still wouldn't be able to really know how happiness felt unless you've experienced its opposite.

I'd beat the crap out of the dude who invented the wheel. Then when someone else comes to resume his work, I'd beat the crap out of them too.

That way, I'll never have to deal with asian women behind the wheel of a car.

Everyone would wear silly hats.
