You should try this out. I know several people that already play on PSOBB, and, of course, the game isnt up to par with todays games, but its some nice, simple gameplay that is easy to love.

If youve never played PSO before, think of... Uhh, a Zelda game, but you can create different races/classes/etc. And its in the future.

Fighting is real time, so its kind of like a button mashing game, but you gotta time your attacks to pull off 3, 5, 6, and 9 hit combo's.

How to:

First download the installer and install.

Second, go into Start Menu, and open the Run Command Prompt. Type this in:
notepad.exe c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Third, add this line to the file, and save and exit:
207.210.93.28 game01.us.segaonline.jp

Fourth, open this link in Internet Explorer (NOT FIREFOX!) and enter the information. http://www.schtserv.com/bbreg.html

Fifth, start up PSOBB, enter your account info you made, and start playing!


A Controller is recommended! It is NOT fun to play with a Keyboard. Also, just tell me when youre (whoever wants to do this) online, and Ill hop on and add you! Also, your character will expire in 3 months of inactivity.

[SIZE=+2][SIZE=-0] You are going to register a PSO Blue Burst account on an unofficial server. Your account will be only valide here and cant be imported/exported from/to sega server.

Yeah, it IS free, and it IS illegal. Bad of us, I know, but PSO has a very thin fan base on the official servers last I was on (topping at no more than 200 online, worldwide.) But you cannot get into trouble, trust me. btw, a lot of people file share these days, it isnt a whole lot different.

nah, its not an open beta, that just shows that Sega hasnt updated that part of their site, hahah. Open beta was years ago, I was on it. But this is the full game, completely free (on a private server though)

yeah graphics arent so good, lol, its a game that was originally on Dreamcast, and has been ported to several different consoles + PC. Its still a fun game, not very complicated, and easy to play. Kind of relaxing

ya I dont see why anyone with a mac couldnt play, but it might be a possibility... Check the official site/download, they should say whether you can or cant.

And if ya can, its kinda hard to find Spread Needle +99 hahah. Cheating is a lot different than what it was on DC and such. And also, its much more strict since the server is somewhat small and can be monitored easily. (character saves are also server side, so if ya do cheat, it isnt permanent, and can be caught)
