just wondering, opinions from other Quezagotalians...
i went to ige.com and checked out the stuff there for our server outa sheer boredom. -.-;
turns out a 75 char can sell for more than 1k USD.
would you retire your char. if you happen to quit? or like sell it off for 1k IRL USD$$

ps. no i am not quiting, but i found this really interesting, ppl would pay 1k for a virtual char lol.
 
I quit the game (not at lvl 75 but close enough) and didn't sell my character :D

I wouldnt like a stranger running around with my name (since i use it outside of FFXI as well) and being an ass to people especially to people that knew me in there.
 
I just retired my char. I wouldn't want someone running around with my character and ruining my reputation in game >.> Plus I wouldn't want a gilselling company to have my character... since they all deserve to die!!!

i dont know... i have a 75 blm rank 10 and zliart and sky over 6.7 mill on quip and a 64 pld..

lots of maps all gate crystals.
my estimate total would probally be around 1.7K USD!

I wouldn't. I pour so much into Sin, the character is almost as much me as I am. Selling him would just seem wrong to me, I think.

And beside that, just because they sell that high doesn't mean they pay that much. Back in the day I think the rate for 1mil was like $40. Then they'd turn around and sell if for 3 or 4X that amount (although, $300-400 would still be a lot to a guy in college with no job haha).

Keep in mind that is how much ige is selling them for. Players get $100-200. They only offered me $195 for my char.

Here you can see what they emailed me after I request a price quote:

I could never sell my character. I know it sounds stupid, but I feel like I have some kinda bond to him;I don't want anyone else to play him.
 
wow...1k...as much as i could really use the cash, i would be bothered knowing that there is someon with the name that i made ruining friendships and reputations. plus its probably harder for the friends of a person that has sold their acct to see that persons char running around and knowing that it really isnt them

Aww Scizo I think I'd cry if I saw youracter running around and he was an ass....

I will be honest, when I quit I will see what price my charachter gets, anythign over 300 bucks and I am selling. Call me a heartless bastard but I love money more then anything else in the world, girls being the only exclusion. Go figure though girls = money drain...

Less tehn 300... I may want to start back up one day, who knows.
 
I remember my friend sold his PLD for $500 to IGE.

Then I see a PLD, same level, same stats as him being sold on IGE for $1500... wtf lol.

If you wanna quit and sell your acct, dont do it through IGE, they will rip you a nice big one.
 
I would just give my gear away and what little money I had then delete her. I grow too attached too my characters to allow someone else to play them! I mean I'm a Roleplayer, what if the person who bought her wasn't!? Or, what if they were and they played her all wrong!? It makes me feel dirty :P

Hell, the day I have to delete Armi I will cry... and that's just sad :P

I sent my quote request to three different website character sellers (ige being one), and here's the kicker...all quote amounts were generated by the same group for all of them, and Ige offered $25 more than the other 2 for the exact same character. So go figure. 8)
 
You sell your stuff and character on auctions like ebay where you reap most the profit and the website gets like 1% for letting you list with them...
 
Rones you prick, quittin gettin price quotes for your character cos you're not goin anywhere! Me, you, Un, and Miya (maybe Cuca too) have to go hit 75 O_O
