I sorta do look like my old THF...its very odd
Its just I am an Undead Rogue(THF) ^^
Anyway I'm doing my best to represent talking with auto translate replies and other FFXI quirks
The questing and crafting so far blows FFXI out of the water sadly. While you can still craft to make money, you can choose crafts that will actually benefit you at an early lvl. For instance my character can only wear leather right now, so while running to do a quest i can kill a mob or two and get the ingredients to upgrade my own leather or make a better item. Your crafting lvl goes up a lot more quickly so im making better stuff and feel like im accomplishing something. If i need a potion or something the ingredients are nearby... oh yeah they have receipe books in-game!
Haven't found any mission type quests yet...
Probably the one odd thing that blows my mind is how much I can solo with a THF class. Level 12 and no going out slaughtering mobs for 2-3 hours yet , as most of it is doing quests and killing stuff on the way to the actual quest goal. You get XP and $$$ for doing quests, its a real motivation to do the quests.
Low lvl so far is fun, gear in shops is actually affordable instead of having to go farm for hrs and hrs, a few quests will pay for gear that lasts for a while. When you do solo mobs you can actually kill them if they are the same level instead of getting pwned and sitting around for a few mins for healing up.
Havent done any real XP parties yet, so if i get to that if you guys wanna know.
Death experiences have been interesting. I havent been raised yet, but if you die and 'homepoint' your spirit will spawn at a homepoint of sorts. Being a spirit is just that you cant do anything. You have a choice there, to be brought to life for a XP hit or go find your corpse and no XP loss. As a spirit you move a lot faster so its not that tedious and you can spawn up to 30 yrds away from your body while its safe.
My biggest gripe is so far is with the interface, I keep asking "in FFXI I could do X how can I do that in WoW." For example there is no target toggle npc/mob/thing button like the Tab key for ffxi. So im forced to use the mouse to 'look/target' things. Theres a closest enemy button but its not the same
The PvP aspect still isnt finished but I did kill a member of the human race who was exploring by sneaking up to them and doing a sneak attack of all things
Sometimes people will shout invasion on the border towns and it sort of gets your blood boiling to get out there and defend or go raid them back. Sure does make things more interesting
I think this game might sadly steal a lot of ppl from FFXI when it comes out if it continues to improve...
Oh well if you guys have any ques ill try to answer them with what i know...
