Give me a huzzah for us folks who are married to someone who hates FFXI with every fiber of their being and can only play when 'said' spouse is not around. XDDDDD

/em does well at dodging wife aggro. ;)
 
<<Married...though my husband plays also. We still have our issues with the game though. He is not into the game as much as I am so there are times when we have a bit of conflict over it.
 
<<<<< Married but we both play at first i hated this game b/c at that time we only had it on the ps2 , now i love it b/c im on the computer and hes on the ps2 .We also have our conflicts to like last night i did promyvion-holla and he helped a friend and we won so hes mad at me lol XD
 
Here here. My wife is not happy about me playing the game. Although I have a arrangement that makes us both happy.

First, I took up BST. This alowed me to play for shorter or interrupted periods of time. This was a very nice thing.

Those days I wanted to party, I go as Bard. No long party seeking, and the job isn't that expensive, compared to other jobs.

Lastly, I changed my tactics and am proactive with things to do with my spouse. This showed her that I *wanted* to spend time with her (true..) and that also alowed me to schedule things like events more easily because I knew exactly when I was going to be unavailable.

She still thinks that it's a time-suck, but she also sees that it brings me some satisfaction, so there is a little lee-way.

<<<< Married. I used to get away with it, but after almost 2 years, not anymore.

Steve hates me playing anymore. Funny part is, he tries to be sneaky now. He'll say he's just gonna watch TV and so I'll say, kay then I'm gonna go play my game. As soon as I mention my game he's ready to do just about anything besides let me get ingame^^. Damn him!!!!

Hahahahahhahahah. I had written one of my secrets here, but thought better of it. No [M] rating on this board^^. Let's just say when I really wanna play I can get a good 3 (or more) hours in cuz he's so tired he falls asleep.
 
Shouldn't, like, all you married people be bitching at your nurses for some more tapioca pudding or something? I kid, I kid...Sort of...Maybe no so much with Kat. ;)

I am married also, and I have a 2 year old son running through the house terrorizing everything.

So, yeah I only seriously play after everyone has gone to bed, so I'll have no interuptions. I play durring the day sometimes too, but I can never party or do anything too serious because I often have to get up from my desk and run off yelling, "Steve! Put that down! No!!!"

My wife pretends to be interested in the stories I tell her about the game. Which is very nice of her.

Me: "OMG last night we ran through Kuftal Tunnel, and Guivere was up, and then this one dude got aggro, so we all freaked and ran like hell..."

Wife: "Huh? Oh oh, sounds great...."

Me: "Yeah...oh, my fishing skill hit level 43 yesterday."

Wife: "Fishing? You stay up til 3am everynight fishing in a video game??"

Me: "...well not everynight...sometimes get a party or something..."

Wife: "You've been playing that game for 2 years now...haven't you beaten it yet??"

Me: "..."

But she's a good sport, and I love her dearly. I have lots of patience, so I don't mind only playing a few hours a night.

I do that also Mortanis. I'll never forget the first time we got Fafnir. I was screaming in the den here (literally). You know "OMG, OMG, OMG, we got Fafnir!!!!!" Followed by woots and more OMG!!! Anyway, I yelled at him to come in here and see how cool Faf was. I love the dragons. He comes runnin' in, takes one look, and says "Oh, that's nice babe."

Asshat burst my bubble a tad ... for about 2 seconds :) ...

I'll add one more thing: he's always been really good at saying hi to the people I've chatted with in Teamspeak and Vent. So he is all in all a pretty good sport.
