Anyone else been following this? The still have yet to release the top 10. I went through and saw some games missing that should probably be on there like Zelda:OoT, Super Mario Bros., Xenogears, Super Metroid, Super Mario 64 and Warcraft III just to name a few.

Any predictions on number 1 game?

Bionic Commando made the list... sweet. Sucks that it was ranked down in the 90s, but at least it was in there.

Since I didn't find it anywhere else in the list, it's plainly obvious that Blaster Master is the #1 game. Leaving it out completely would be a gross oversight.
 
S'all about Duck Hunt. Blaster Master ain't got shit on Duck Hunt.

But yeah i just saw this yesterday. FF6 better get on there. Chrono Trigger too hopefully. And Xenogears in the top 10 plz but it wont happen ;|
 
Super Metroid and Ocarina of Time are bound to be in the top five spots. I imagine OoT will be #1. Hopefully Half-Life 2 is in there.

I was also happy to see Dune II included. I played that game to death on the Genesis, and I keep hoping it'll show up on the Wii's Virtual Console.
 
Number one game will probably be SMB or Pac Man if some of the criteria are fun-factor and cultural impact.
 
ChronoTrigger and Ms.Pacman are already on there.
 
Castle Wolfestein prolly be on the top 10 for being the first FPS, also not sure if Doom was on the list.
 
Mario is number 1, as it should be. I skimmed about half of the list and it looked like they made some good choices. Kind of disappointed SF2 was only in the twenties, but oh well.
 
Must be Mario Bros. The game saved gaming. No other game is as important as Mario, not even the first game, whatever it was lol.

It was like in the 80s :| I think. I was kinda annoyed simply cuz it listed a few games after that that are nowhere near close.
 
For some reason the worst old 2D Mario game won.

Super Mario Bros 3 > Super Mario World > Super Mario Bros 2 > Super Mario Bros

What are they even rating this on? If it's how good the game is, the order is whack. If it's how impactful the games are, the order is whack. I mean, Mario Bros is number 1 in impactfulness, but then World of Warcraft should be up higher, and Everquest should be on the list, and what about DOOM, Duke Nukem, Castlevania?

And too much damn Zelda love. Two Zeldas should be on that list, the original NES game and the N64 game. Goldeneye should be on the top ten. Smash Bros should be higher up on the list. My god the list just sucks in general. Where's diablo or any of the elder scrolls games? How about FF10, that doesn't even make the list???

You're crazy. Super Mario Bros 2 (assuming you're referring to the US one) is definitely NOT anywhere as good as SMB was.

Also, criteria.
A number of factors were taken into consideration when selecting a winner: How good the game was compared to others of its time, its overall game design, how well it stands up over the years, how influential it has been in the realm of gaming and just plain how much fun we had playing it are all points for contention.

Never played 3 all the way through. Could never get my hands on a copy. So my opinion on it doesn't matter, but for shits and giggles I'll say I still think SMW was better.
