OMG. This game has been popping up in my head the last few days. I played a demo about a year and a half ago I think, but NEVER saw it in blockbuster or Hollywood. i would never buy a shooter game...except halo. But anyways, I hoped that this would have dropped in price being so old, but Amazon has it listed for 42?! A game that old? Wow. Anyone play this game?

For those who dont know, this game was sick. Like an old school airplane shooter. But one really sweet thing was you could change your ship from black to white. Enemies shot black and white bullets at you,and you had to swap your ship to compensate. For the few minutes I played, it was sooo hard and a ton of fun. Hard to get your head to let things hit you. Well just curious.

Also, anyone every play Drakengard? Get to the 5th and final ending? Well there is this part where you have to send out harmonics by pressing two separate buttons. Well sounds easy right? Well when you have about .2 seconds or less to decided which button, in a stream of constant varying patterns, it gets damn near impossible (took me like 40 tries I think lol...with a guide!) Reminds me a lot of this game.

Funny you should mention Ikaruga, I've also been waiting for it to drop in price and I just ended up grabbing a copy at Blockbuster near here cheap.

Been playing it for a good part of today, before I had to goto work, and I've only gotten to the third level. It makes me insane! But it's just so damned good!
 
Yeah, its a GC game. One of the best looking ones for the system IMO. And MAN is it hard. If you want a total writeup of the game just go here.

Now that is some funny shit. Man that review was SWEET! I can totally see how this game would be ridiculously hard. My experience, the idea behind it, and the screenshots I saw attest to that. Again, brings me back to Drakengard. That last level was a bitch, and Im guessing Ikaruga will be as tough. Nice to know its that hardcore though...

Its funny, cause its even harder then how he put it. I mean i was able to finally get to lvl 3 and that was cause it was with a friend and we put it on easy. I dont even want to think of how normal or even *gasp* Hard mode is.

But dont let my experiences disuade you from buying or renting it (if you can find it). It really is a good game, and beautiful too.
 
LOL no not at all. I just dont want to spend 40 bucks on it, because once I beat it, that is probably it. I also dont own a Gamecube, so once I move away, I wont have access to it. Like my Skies of Arcadia :( . But I beat that though, no super stuff sadly.

Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are the only 2 shooters that I have ever bought (I spent 150 on silvergun). Both were worth every penny I spent, and I generally dont like shooters.
