If your wondering what I mean then lemme explain what I do in RL. I am a Editor that edits videos that you'd usually see on T.V. But of course I've only been doing it for only 2 years now. But man dude its the best career I picked up. Lemme show you what I mean.

I work with 3 programs. 1 which your probably familiar with.

1. Adobe Premier (Of course, everyone knows Adobe. Adobe makes too many Programs).

2. Avid Xpress Pro (This program I started off with when I started being an Editor.)

3. Final Cut Pro HD (I don't own a Mac but I did use this 3 or 4 times.)

Here are some screenshots to show you what I mess with and work with.

^Avid Xpress Pro. That's my usual setup. It may look very complicated to alot of people but really it isn't. Trust me on this. Bad thing though was the fact that this program took me about a year and a half to learn how to use 100%.

^Adobe Premier 1.5 Pro is the current program that I am learning. Its ok but it keeps me kinda close to the familiar smell of Avid. Since Avid does feel like my home program. Nothing more pleasurable then home! Home sweet home. =P

^Final Cut Pro HD is a great program. Only thing I hate about FCP is the fact that its only on Mac. Of course the Mac has a mouse that only has 1 button and I believe Right click makes work easier. I always have to strainly go on top of the screen to Copy or Paste. But what can I say. Mac is whack. Sorry Mac users its true. I did hear Mac got a new mouse setup for Right click so maybe my feelings will change towards Macontosh.

So if anyone is interested in the world of Editing lemme give you guys a piece of what I know how to do. Lemme have it. ^_^

I use Premiere 1.5, and it's way more than I ever need, but work paid for it, so w/e. I basically only use like 5% of it, my input is most of the time uncomressed square pixel AVI, and my output varies between webstreaming compatible formats and demos that are delivered on data DVD.

Currently I am trying, and failing, to overcome the challenge of fitting 1280x1024 into 640*480 and not lose the user interface legibility in the process. Of course I tell them that it's not going to work, but they just tell me: We don't care, make it work!

You can stretch the video image in the Composer window. It won't loose any quality. But you can't do that in Avid though through the composer window, I had to resize film in a seperate editors tool bar.

Adobe Premier has a good selection of Transitional fades like Dissolve, crossfade, morph, ect. Video Effects like Matt, Croma key, luma key, black and white, the usual. But I hate the audio editing tool. Avid has a better way of editing and adjusting volume in your work. Also Adobe Premier is very damn glitchy to MP3. Sometimes when I import a MP3 I get no pulse lines from the data. Gets on my nerves! ><
