So... a buddy of mine convinced me to start playing ffxi again...

I quit a LONG time ago... and actually stopped gaming all together until recently. I got into the lord of the rings online stress beta... but that only lasted through last weekend. I wasn't really sold on the game.. reminds me too much of wow which never peaked my interest like FFXI did/does.

So after more than a year away from the game... I'm back. I just bought the new vanadiel 2007 dvd and started installing it.. I wonder if any of my old linkshell buddies are still on quetzal? I am afraid to say that I have forgotten all the names of my ffxi friends. :(

Anybody old school enough to remember me?

I had a high level galka bard... I think I'm going Elvann this time... starting with red mage and then going bard again probably.. loved that job so much.
 
I guess I'm not back.. I forgot how world passes worked... I've already established myself on caitsith and obviously don't want to start over on quetzal.. so I guess I need to see if there are any caitsith communities. :(
 
/welcome. How established can you be on a server in 2 days? Lol. I'm sure someone can get you a WP around here.
 
Wha? He's already a l33t 75 rdm/75brd!! lol Yea, if you're worried about 2 days worth of work then you're in for a world of shit coming back. You have to repeat everything you did before, then on top of all of that you have more things to do now. Just to keep up with the community. 2 days of work is nothing; if you're serious about coming back than I'll pick up a world pass for you tonight.
 
Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know.. honestly, I'm not sure how dedicated I am to playing the game again.. I won't be as hardcore as I used to be...

The problem isn't that I'm really that developed... lol, I'm only a 9th lvl rdm.. but my buddy who started playing again a few weeks ago already is pretty established... 30 levels of work done... and we all know the grind... He probably won't move to a new server.

As for doing things over, I'm actually enjoying it.. I missed this game so much! Except I don't really miss linking mobs... stupid.. argh!
