Actually, I've been done since April, and haven't logged in for jack shit. Even then, I had only lightly played for the year and a half prior to that, and the game has kind of sucked for years now. I tried to involve myself in various new activities to see if anything really interested me any more, but that's a big fat no.
I stuck around for friends and of course always accomplishing something else. There's still stuff I wanted to get done, but it's not like I'm getting it done, so fuck it. No more FFXI, and no more MMOs for this guy. Still love gaming, but this shit is just not for me.
Being an all or nothing kind of guy, these games are rather...Absorbing. I'd rather be consumed by a useful passion than an utterly worthless one, and my involvement in this game initially began as an escape of sorts anyway. Those of you who have known me for years may know what I'm getting at.
But that's how my journey ends. To each his/her own. This is no different than anything. Like your job, for instance. I've worked with computers for a dozen years, and that field is total bullshit to me. I hate it and can't live with myself to do that shit till retirement, and so I have reinvented myself. That doesn't mean that there are no passionate people in the IT world. There are plenty, and good for them!! They are doing what they love. There's also plenty more that hate that shit, lol. Again, just my experiences and opinions. I'm just saying, don't lie to yourself. Tomorrow will not be what you hoped for. And hope doesn't really accomplish anything in the first place.
So those of you who I am saying goodbye to, I wish you the best of luck, health and happiness, IRL. In game, may you obtain infinite crystals and rock salt. And maybe relics.
To all the friends and linkshells of years or mere enjoyable moments:
You know who you are, and I love you all. Take care of yourselves.

If you even think for a split second this might be you, it is. If you fucked your face with a 10" knife, that'd be great.
In regards to Sneakypants:
She will be alive till just before the end of the month when I will make the final determination of what will happen to her. Interested in taking her as your own? Or getting some gear/gil handouts? Send me a PM, and I'm happy to let her or her stuff go to friends and good homes. If I don't know you, don't PM me, and read and re-read the above point made regarding D-Bags. If Sneakypants is not claimed, she will be deleted.
