kk my first night was pretty sweet...I got to a 13 RDM and i guess i got lucky? i was just killing lizzy's in south gustaburg and something named Leaping Lizzy pop so i killed it and 2 other people were asking me if i got the bounding boots....i got them and put them on and they seemed angry at me...why?

because people are dam selfish, but grats on the ex rare item ^.^ its a NM (not going to right the non-acronim) and people hunt it for 30mins-2hrs for that item

Grats... O_o;
Uhm, Bounding Boots are very, very sought-after, one of the best melee boots for a very long time (especially for Thieves). Grats on getting them, I'm 0/5...

They're not super-rare, but their drop rate isn't that great. They are, however, one of those items you'll never, ever wanna drop. (Doing so is a terrible waste. =/)

Also grats on killing Lizzy at 13 (it's 10 or 11?), most of the time fighting a NM that close to your level ends badly. ^^;

Congrats bro

Yeah, what Mish said... Dont ever EVER drop those. The regular version of those boots are like what 2 mil+ now? You saved yourself a ton of gil by getting those. Good job man!

lol... thats Notorious Monster 101... You'll spend hours and hours of camping a mob, waiting for it to come along, and someone comes out of nowhere, sees the monster, claims it, and gets the drop. Something you'll learn about later.

hahaha congrats!

The same thing happened with me and Spini Spiri (spelling?) I was just killing crawlers and not really paying attention. I was half way through fight when i realized I was fighting an NM, and I only noticed because three guys on chocobos were standing around me. No Mist Silk Cape though.

A few weeks ago I was camping for Spini and I had been there for a few days waiting and waiting. I stopped searching to help a new player (Pricer, I think) learn how to set macros and check mobs. Behind Pricer Spini spawned. I hauled ass to get closer to cast dia to claim him but some other new player got it. Three seconds into fight he Called for Help. /sigh

p.s. seriously, never drop those boots.

LMAO. Haha some newbie got the boots instead of the seasoned hunters who wanted to save cash or sell thier leaping boots after getting the bounding boots.
Like everyone else said. DON'T EVER DROP THEM!
They last until about level 50 for every melee job.

Yea, I was in {Konschtat Highlands} the other day and I engaged this wolf NM called Haty. Didnt realize it was a NM until Im like "Hmmmm, never seen this before" and checked it.

Killed it and got a Rogestaurin (sp?): A nice little Chakram for a THF/NIN, and adds +1 to evasion (i think. It may have been agility.) but its now a nice addition to my NIN.
---

And again, in case you didnt catch it, DONT DROP THOSE BOOTS. Congrats. ^^

Congratulations Slice that is really great. like everyone has said those boots are going to last you for a long time and save you quite abit if ya think about it. and what ever you do don't toss those boots. ive spent almost two weeks trying to get me a pair of those and im 0/40+ and never got those boots to drop

That's a pretty good first day. You should pat yourself on the back and enjoy it. :cool: Not all of your in-game days will be quite like the first few months. And don't worry about people getting mad that you got the drop on something, it won't be the last time you see something of the sort.
