I could've sworn I heard something squeak as our WAR & NIN cannon stepped on Ark Angel EV's ugly face, crushing the final standing foe and ending our Divine Might run with a win on the second attempt.

Wanted to give big, big, big props to Evanos for organizing this. I had very little faith in a bunch of bloodthirsty melee's being able to pull this off. Little hard to handle strategy & thinking when all you can really focus on is wanton destruction, right?

We ended up with 8-9 WAR's, 4-5 NIN, 2 BRD, WHM, BST, and I think a DRK or RDM. Ark Angel TT was dropped before I even finished buffing up for my WS - just as I hit Mighty Strikes, he plopped to the ground like a pigeon with a .357 hole in it's head. Er, where it's head used to be... whatever. He died quick.

Congrats to all who made it, even bigger grats for the win! I have no list of names, as I was too excited and ran off to get my Suppanomimi while I ejaculated repeatedly. Me & Motley were on vent, and he was freaking out so much I thought an orangutang took over the mic.

Thanks again to Evanos & crew! Melee > AA, bitches!
 
That is awesome. i give you all congrats for breaking away from the standard form to do something. I can't wait till im able to do those awesome events like that once my war is lvl'd high enough
 
Dont Lie fly You had your screen on Lion at the whole time...
 
Yeah, well... tis the life of a melee. Target something, WS, then stare at Lion until you either:
  1. Die
  2. Kill the mob
  3. Get 100% again
Repeat as necessary.
 
WAR/NIN cannon... with bards... and a white mage... and a stunner...

Good job on winning DM, but don't freaking kid yourselves, that wasn't a cannon.
 
That's like saying a PT with BRD WHM WAR WAR WAR WAR isn't a cannon PT....

I was always under the impression that the purpose of all the cannon DMs being done was to show that BLM wasn't the only job that could overload in the battle.

18 BLM is still the only way to do that...
 
If I'm not mistaken, a SMN was in the DM fight, too. I (MNK) was supposed to be in the fight as well, but gave up my spot to a WAR who was asked to fill in a spot at the last minute. Quite a few people were asked to come at the last minute because Evanos was desparate for people since a lot of the people who said they were coming, or wanted to come, couldn't make it at the last minute. I was on the roster from the last run, and I'm also Evanos' girlfriend, but I gave my spot up for a WAR because it WAS a WAR / NIN DM.

Anyway, congratulations to you all.

Yeah, you are right. We lost a little of our cannon aspect due to the fact that 5 of the people that signed up didnt show. We did have 1 BST and 2 BRD in the original plan (the BST to kite the MR) and that was it. But because people didnt show I felt it was better to fill the spots with what would come and try before not trying at all. Either way, it was a blast and congrats to everyone who got their earring.

A cannon doesnt have to have everyone be the same job. It just needs to be loaded with the same jobs. I think someone mentioned that brd, whm, war/ninx4 as being a cannon. This wasn't a full cannon as they only had 9 wars out of 18, but if they had gone as originally planned, it wouldve been even with a few support jobs.

He's just upset cuz people can do over 100 dmg with a WS, leave the man(?) alone...
 
Oh right, we had no whm - she was on smn.

Call it what you want, there was more WAR & NIN than anything.

Good times is not ment for discussion, it's a place of congratulations and sharing accomplishments. If you want to discuss this further make a new thread in another more appropriate board. I'm not just targeting you Reko, but everyone who's derailing the thread.

Congrats CmdrFly, I couldn't even beat one of them! Much kick ass :D

Yes, please turn this into a DRG bash, since 90% of job effectiveness related discussions turn into those anyway.
