This is just a public apology to those who helped Delite and Dresdan last night with Hakutaku. As you all know, a Tonberry popped during the fight, so I switched target to the add and called for help (Through pure habit, as it's what I always have done when fighting these particular types of mobs). What I was unaware of was that calling for help on a different enemy, causes the enemy the rest of the alliance is engaged to turn orange and also get the call for help.

I'm terribly sorry that this happened, I purchased Dresdan a new Hakutaku Cluster for my mistake.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that I made this mistake.

See you in game.

We smoked him the first time though. Pretty easy. Makes up for it :P...

I saw the CFH on the tonberry and started laughing cause I knew if I turned the camera just a bit to the right I'd see an orange hakufaku also.

Yea, no biggie. Don't let it get to you :p, shit happens. I appreciate the fact that you did buy me a new cluster, because I would not have held it against you. I also want to thank everyone that showed up, and hope I can get the same group for a 2nd round.

I just want to say that it takes balls to admit publicly when you screw up and I respect you for it Reality. I would also say that I don't know if everyone else would have taken the responsability to buy another cluster, and that is the kind of act that makes people like myself look up to some of the higher levels.

Whenever you guys want to do it again, just gimme a buzz ^_^

next time we go. its gonna be my turn to get my optical hat.

We've all made mistakes before. We just need to go back and kill him again.

Shake it off big guy, We got 1 Hat out of that (Mine) so it was not a complete failure.

As for the CFH, I would have done the same on a Tonberry TBO, but now I know better. So, it was a learning EXP for everyone.

We will get Dresdan a hat ASAP, we smoked him my run, not even one add.

See ya in Game

Way to signup with a name thats not even near your ingame name Delite lol ^^

PS: Been meaning to say that for awhile heh

It could be if you just switched the S with a D and the I with an E and the R with the L and the Z with the I and the A with a T and the 2 with the E.. Then get rid of 733 completely ^^

Sorry to hear that for the people who lost out on that because of it. If only there was some way to bar you people from doing something that idiotic...hmm...there is!

It is amazing how 5 minutes searching will show you how to disable that and not lose the respect of many, and screw others out of something that good. You and another samurai(a disgrace to the job I might add) shoud really look into something like that.

It is sad to see you really haven't changed, but eh.

Hey Naly I thought you quit? I guess you still like to take time out of your busy day to come and troll the forums. Glad to hear it :)

The way reality described it, sounds like he called for help thru the menu instead of hitting ctrl+g...maybe i'm just stupid but i don't htink you can disable menu options  o well w/e

Nalyubuites, I think what Reality meant is he engaged a pop and tried to call for help on that one, but the game's mechanisms didn't turn out the way he expected, and turned all engaged monsters orange.

I think it depends on if you yourself have engaged the mob....then if you deselect and your party is fighting the first mob and you target a second and call for help, it will turn both mobs orange.

Player X engages mob A with party, and hits mob A with an attack.
Player X notices unexpected pop, and disengages A and engages B (unexpected mob) while party fights A.
Player X engages B and calls for help, thus turning A and B orange.

Now had Player X been in the same party that engaged A and never touched it, and then engaged B...he would have only CFH on B and not A. Do I have that right?

I know when Svina, a few others, and myself were in Gustav to fight Wyvernpoacher Drachlox, Svina soloed him.....while the others and I fought the add ons seperate BUT in the same party. I called for help on the add ons when I was overwhelmed in front of some onlookers, my heart sank and I felt really dumb at that moment, yet Wyvernpoacher never turned orange.

I think this is because I never actually "attacked" or touched Drachlox.

I think i have that right?

Reality is a great player. This just shows that even the best of us make mistakes - especially in big groups. I certainly had a fair share of mine.

Anyway, mitigation tanking isn't feasible for HKTK. So a good way to handle adds is to have a PLD stay outside of the alliance (perhaps in a PT with a WHM) and CFH on pops. When the PLD CFH's, then the DDs can quickly dispose of the pop and go back to happily ganking HKTK.

Helping with HKTK was an utterly dismal experience for me. But it was a safer way of doing things.
