It does have *some* left, and best of luck getting one of them.

This really sucks, and I'm saddened to hear you got caught in it.

Try looking in the call center biz, their turnover is huge so they're always looking!

I agree, they are allways hiring. Its not the greatest job in the world but its employment and it sure beats working at rotten ronnies.

GL man, I just seen that on the news myself. Its unfortunate for you and everyone else thats been slapped and left w/o a job

...in 60 days. I'm one of the 34,000 hit by the Circuit City bankruptcy liquidation.

Looks like I need to get my resume together and hope this economy left a few good jobs open.

I hope everything works out for you Taurothar. I work at Best Buy and our hours are getting cut like mad, people are leaving the company, and we'll probably be in your spot soon too. The lack of competition is not good.

Best of luck, buddy.

Apply at Best Buy. They hire (almost) everyone with prior retail experience.

:dur:

Gl Tauro, plenty of jobs up here if you're feelin' up for a move ;)

When I was at Best Buy, we only cut your hours if you were being unproductive (sales wise). That's why some PT people always had 20+ hours while some had 0-4 per week.

As far as this CC ordeal, I'm sure all of you have seen this coming over a year ago.

Sorry to hear about that Taurothar. In this day and age it's becoming far more common. The place I used to go every morning before work for a coffee and bagel closed down. Stay busy looking for another job and hopefully you will find one that fits your lifestyle/ budget. Best of luck to you. :)

Small bit of good news. I was part of a test program run by a pretty high up person in the company. She sent me a personal email and offered to give me a reference anytime I ask. That sounds like it would be a big help to have the former head of Firedog innovation give you a professional reference.

That's definitely going to help you man. Sorry to hear you'll be losing your current job. But hey, you do have about two months to look for something new. I'm sure you'll be able to find something. Jobs are out there, and I know you can snag a decent one. Good luck buddy.

Cross over to the dark... I mean, blue side.

Seriously though, the military is not a bad gig if you want job security for four years. On top of that, you get job training and money for college.

Hope everything works out, Tauro.

Military is very much not for me. I don't want to participate in anything that I can't just walk away from should the need/want arise.

Do they have an Ultimate Electronics over where you live? I bought a home theater from them today, and it seemed like a *very* cool place to work.

I'm sorry to hear that, Taur. The economy has hit a lot of people close to me in so many ways and it's really hard to even know what to say to someone after that. It's a good thing, though, that your company did give you plenty of notice. I've seen companies layoff people with no notice or even a hint that layoffs were coming. I wish you the best of luck in your job search and I'm glad to see you have a really good reference to start you off in the right direction.

Sucks to hear that you're loosing your job. With the announcement about MS cutting up to 5K jobs this year everyone around my work's a little on edge today. One of the things you could look into to help find another job is a Temp company, I'd suggest Volt if they're in your area, they're who I'm currently working for at Microsoft.

Their website is http://www.volt.com

I've heard that Excell is a good company to work for as well
