so there i was in CN yesterday and in my PT a blm named mercullie (or was it mecullie). he spams spells like crazy, gets hit and has the gal to say "sorry, there's something wrong with this PT. i'm getting hit."
i let that slide since a lot of low level blms overnuke.
however... yesterday was the day of everyone DC'ing. right as i pull a crawler back to camp, 2 ppl DC. our remaining melee dies because no one cures him. the blm in the interest of saving his ass (after seeing 2 ppl DC) disbands from the PT. the rest of us ending up dying. afterwards his explanation was "escape takes too long to cast, so i disbanded".
please look him up for a good PT.

btw... what up with a lv 39 thf/war still using a sword? "dude, my SATA fastblade does 200 damage! daggers' damage is too weak." and... he was a mentor...

I mean really...

You mean he was actually using a...

People like him make us good THF's look bad.

**shakes fist**

Stupid Mentors- is that an oxymoron?

Gee I want to grow up and be as stupid as you Mr. Mentor, can you teach me?

Bah!! Sorry all I just had to let out some steam!!

Alas, I am still shocked on the whole THF comment.

Ok I am done ranting now thank you,

Mohoso

its funny, the noobs get the mentor status as soon as they hit the proper lvl for it, yet they dont know jack shiat

that blm was messed up with disbanding from the party only cause escape takes too long. bull crap i still would have casted it can at least a few would have survived and then went back to do raises or whatever.

As for the thf/war still using a sword thats his on pref. but hey he should still have a dagger on him to be adjustable. Also his dagger skill is probably way too weak for anything cause if he was still usuing a sword he probably never used a dagger before.

THF/WAR using a sword is fine, as long as their dagger is still capped. THF are invited for SATA and SATA Viper Bite to close Distortion... However, he's only able to close Distortion with the much weaker Fast Blade. That should have been brought to his attention in a kind manner, and perhaps that's why the kind sir hadn't been picked up for a party (because he wouldn't be able to fulfill a role people look at his job for). Just like people will pick up a WAR/THF in hopes of getting a SA+ Sturmwind for closing Fragmentation. Of course, that requires use of Gaxe.

As for the BLM... I've always joked with my static about doing something like that, or booting the puller as soon as he pulled and us escaping; it's funny to see someone actually disband themself just to save his own skin. Mages should know, if they're doing their job TOO well, they are going to get hit (ie: overnuking, basically just overcasting spells). Someone should let him die. :D Hell, that's the best way to learn about overnuking... I luckily learned it at 11 BLM in the dunes when I was very new to the job, and I got Jet Stream-one-shotted 4 times in a row.

I HPed each time, no worries!

Hey yanzi, that Gustav party last night was the bomb.

Were you in the party with mecullie at CN too? Or did you party with him separately, because I partied with him yesterday afternoon. He REFUSED to stand near the RDM so I could give him ballad >_>, and because I was waiting for him to move, the RDM didn't have enough MP and the tank died  . He's an idiot. Oh, and the whole party agreed it was his fault. I booted him, got a RNG, and we were good. :)

yeah, that PT was awesome. i think we made 4x the XP we'd get in CN.
i was in a PT with mecullie that day. basically... he's everything wrong about playing blm. hey... i know, why not ask him to be a mentor too?

I had come across a similar situation with players disbanding under bad circumstances....
i was in a fairly good pt in crawlers nest...........at first we were getting the beetles but eventually there werent a whole lot around, so we decided to go back for crawlers....... which was ok at first, until a crawler linked the one we were fighting!
at this time, our blm (or rdm forget which it was) and a bard decided to warp out durin our battle!!! without saying goodbye or anything and then they disbanded!! >_<

leaving the rest of us to die........

God I hate mentors that put up their flags when doing things they know nothing about.

I'm a registered mentor, but when exping I only put it up when I'm in an area that I've been through with at least two jobs. 99% of the time it's off.

I do the same...I got it, i only put it on sometimes when I am in town or near the low level areas where noobs roam...but anywhere else, it's off...actually, i have hit /mentor on for like a month or two now..
