Hmmm.... naming your kid after a videogame seems a little retarded to me.. but then again I collect toys, so meh.

My wife and I considered a few names from video games, but decided against it.
 
One of my college acquaintences got married and they named their daughter Kira Nerys, one of the Deep Space Nine characters. I think Nerys is a pretty name, but I'm not sure it's a legacy I want to explain. Same with Sephiroth.
 
Why didn't they just name their kid "Please make fun of me in grade school?" or "it is going to take me 10 years to learn how to spell my name?" :roll:

or Even worse, how the child will react when he reads and is able to fully learn/understand the kind of person he was named after. I mean, Sephiroth was undeniably cool, but would you want to be named after a person, albeit fictional, who tried to destroy the world (and almost succeeded)?

Though I think if I were the kid, having Sephiroth for a name would be awesome o.o;;

Actually, Sephiroth isn't just the name of the the Aerith-slayer, but it's also the term used for the collective of all the choirs of angels as a whole. So even though most people think long hair and a black coat, there might be some who won't know his parents are dorks.

But on a side note, maybe they should have named him "Cid" if they wanted a FF character. Just a suggestion.
 
I still think Squall would be awesome...until he get's to middle or high school and people sittin next to him drinkin PowerAde "Green Squall" flavor...I don't think he'd laugh too much >_>
 
Yeah that kid might as well be named Shitstreak.

I will be naming my future dog Taru though...I'll be the only one making fun of him though.
 
I'd name my kid Mario Linkovich Brovslofskie(not my real last name, but sounds cool)
